About this listen

Rosie Harlow is desperately seeking… well, she’s not sure. A romance would be nice but so would a dinner conversation with her pre-teen son. Too bad her boy is way too busy growing up to pay his mama any attention. Rosie never meant to swear off men and she’s not frigid—you don’t become a single mom at fifteen by being frigid—but this dry spell of hers has gotten out of hand and something must be done.

Enter Amon Parrish. Back in high school Amon was voted most likely to get caught with his pants down. He was a trouble maker. The quintessential bad boy. But twelve years away from home, traveling the world and working with Collin Creed doing super-secret (and somewhat illegal) things, changed all that. These days Amon Parrish is a brand-new, stand-up man.

And, to Rosie’s surprise, a romantic man as well. Because he has decided to court her. And this is not just any ordinary courting, either. It’s… well, a page ripped right out of a bodice ripper.

But everyone in Disciple, West Virginia has a secret in their past.

Even the cheerful, perpetually optimistic, and seemingly innocent, Rosie Harlow.

The Echo on the Water is a swooning plate of small-town fiction served up with a side of spice. It honors the themes of friends to lovers, found family, and is filled with bigger-than-life, morally-grey characters against a backdrop of the weird and wonderful.

A Life Less Ordinary

I really enjoyed listening to this one and I felt even more “pulled in” to the life in Trinity. Rosie is a firecracker and as a single mom I cheered for her all the way! Also, JA’s EOBS had me tuned in. I’m a fellow equestrian who took a time out and just returned to riding this past year. Make time for the things that make you happy. Just a whole lot of what Julie said struck home with me. Thank you for writing books for all of us!

I loved it!

I didn’t think I could love characters more than the rumble characters but Amon and Rosie are the best. Great narrators in this book also. The world Julie is creating is amazing and I can’t wait to start the next book

I absolutely love the romance 💘

Oh my goodness!! Amon Parish is every woman’s dream romance all wrapped up in a hot ex-marine, dog 🐕 loving trainer who happens to be part owner of one questionable elite security company located on an old abandoned mine, that’s been turned into some sort of military compound.

He has set his eyes on Rosie Harlow and has turned all his charm into courting her and he is swooning the pants right off every woman around watching, including Rosie ♥️♥️

Rosie is, according to Amon, every man’s dream with her adorably cute smile, outfits and dirty talking phrases she says to him and her occasionally slu**y clothes mixed with her prim and proper clothes to play the part in Bishop, Disciple and Reverent town parts.

I absolutely loved reading this story, it had all of the over the top romance 💘, humor and a bit of mystery going on and it can be read as a standalone, but if you really want to know all the side character stories, then you’ll want to also read the first book in the series, The Rumble and The Glory.

Listening to the audiobook of this story, read by Teddy Hamilton & Ava Erickson, these narrators delivered an excellent story and completely pulled me into the story!

Another great series is born!

Initially series was a little slow to start but once it got going I was hooked! Listened to
Both books in 2 days and have pre-ordered the 3rd. It does have a company feel but with a twist. JA Huss never Disappoints! Definitely worth the credits!

Swoon worth but still sexy as hell.

I loved how romantic this book was! Still classic JA Huss with intrigue, suspense, and hot sex, but with all the romance that makes you want to give dirty looks to your significant other for not being like Amon. Loved it! Can't wait for the 3rd book.

Amon is perfect!

I loved Amon and Rosie as much as I did the first book. I am utterly captivated by this new wonderful world Julie has given us. The Company world was so good and I was so invested in it, not an easy act to follow! This new series is packed full of all the mystery, lust, action, romance and intrigue one would wish for. I am so excited to see what's In store! the narration was simply fantastic and added to the story so much!

Dang, they did it again

Let’s be real you’re always nervous when starting a second book in a series when the first book knocked you off your damn feet.

But this one is just as good, the narrators are top-notch, the love story is just beautiful, Rosie is just adorable, and the government is just shady.

I love that get deeper into the subplot of conspiracy theory, but also how seamlessly it moves with the romance story.

And I am positively foaming at the mouth for the next book.

Five stars all around.

Painting Stories with Words

J A Huss has created a world that I could never have imagined. Her characters and settings are so alive before these amazing narrators get ahold of them, that the colorful story explodes through the Southern Accents of Teddy Hamilton and Ava Erickson. In this world is love, hope, heartbreak and intrigue. I can’t wait for the next book. Also don’t skip the EBOS! It is as brilliant as the book!

The ups, downs & thrills of the story

I haven’t found any of Julie’s stories that I haven’t absolutely loved! I find her concept & story of these towns being more of a play where everyone has a roll to play & no one can move in from the outside. And how the character Jim Bob Baptist is technically the mayor but was never elected & is actually the iron fist that runs this circus. I just love Rosie & her quirky yet lovable ways and Amen, the strong mysterious man that comes into her life. Their quick but intense romance & how Amen comes to the rescue. Thank you Julie for yet another amazing story that popped out from the many bubbles that is your mind.

And the plot thickens...

A small town with juicy secrets? Yes, please! And a "touch her and die" alpha? Swoon. If you're into that friends-to-lovers, slow-burn kinda thing with a side of steamy, this book might be your new obsession.
