No houses here, just jet planes and one dead witch of the East! Characters and storyline are borrowed from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Frank Baum. However, college-age Suzzanne is desperate to go home but must first overcome the evils of the Land of Oz. This is a slightly twisted story in which the horror of the journey is more evident and not sugar-coated. A definite must listen!
The author, Will Savive creates a more terrifying and violent version of the Wizard of Oz. Each character is uniquely developed and woven carefully into the storyline and plot twists. I found the other “non-Oz” characters to be rich and equally captivating giving the story a more “Bermuda triangle” feel to it. I have found that Savive is masterful at creating new angles and twists.
The narrator, Ronnie Rowlands is perfect for this book. His use of voices to distinguish each character is flawless while also capturing nuances of each emotion and personality of each character.
I am a huge fan of Will Savive! Don’t miss this one!
