Public radio cohosts navigate mixed signals in Rachel Lynn Solomon's sparkling romantic comedy debut.
Shay Goldstein has been a producer at her Seattle public radio station for nearly a decade, and she can't imagine working anywhere else. But lately it's been a constant clash between her and her newest colleague, Dominic Yun, who's fresh off a journalism master's program and convinced he knows everything about public radio.
When the struggling station needs a new concept, Shay proposes a show that her boss green-lights with excitement. On The Ex Talk, two exes will deliver relationship advice live, on air. Their boss decides Shay and Dominic are the perfect cohosts, given how much they already despise each other. Neither loves the idea of lying to listeners, but it's this or unemployment. Their audience gets invested fast, and it's not long before The Ex Talk becomes a must-listen in Seattle and climbs podcast charts.
As the show gets bigger, so does their deception, especially when Shay and Dominic start to fall for each other. In an industry that values truth, getting caught could mean the end of more than just their careers.

This book is about two coworkers who have enough tension between each other that they effectively convince the world they are exes on the radio. With their forced proximity and the fake "ex dating" these two quickly realize they should have been dating from the start.
I loved how light hearted and easy this read was. There was not unnecessary drama between them. They were two adults who realize they like each other while pretending like they liked each other in the past. I loved the fact that the heroine was older than the hero and the representation of an interracial couple. I highly recommend this read when you're struggling getting into a book and want a fun and quick read!

I really liked this one. The audiobook was great! I loved the premise, the storyline, and the characters. It’s also a rare romance that has a woman who is older than the man (only by like 6 years but still).
I took a star off because I wasn’t satisfied by the way it ended. The actual ending was good, but there were some things that the main guy character did and did not do that I wasn’t happy with. I don’t think he deserved forgiveness, and I didn’t like the way it was handled. I also wish the a-hole boss could have been dealt with in a more satisfying way. It felt like those sorts of gender discrimination issues were talked about and addressed in the book, but there was no satisfying resolution.
All in all I really like this authors books.
Cute romance
