The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.
Moiraine Damodred arrives in Emond’s Field on a quest to find the one prophesized to stand against The Dark One, a malicious entity sowing the seeds of chaos and destruction. When a vicious band of half-men, half beasts invade the village seeking their master’s enemy, Moiraine persuades Rand al’Thor and his friends to leave their home and enter a larger unimaginable world filled with dangers waiting in the shadows and in the light.

Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Story
It has been 20 years since the end of the war. The dictatorial Augurs, once thought of almost as gods, were overthrown and wiped out during the conflict, their much-feared powers mysteriously failing them. Those who had ruled under them, men and women with a lesser ability known as the Gift, avoided the Augurs' fate only by submitting themselves to the rebellion's Four Tenets.

Story
In 1765, Michael Fallon, an Irishman on the run from brutal English overlords, makes his way to Charleston, South Carolina, as an indentured servant. Bound over to Thomas Carver, a successful merchant, he quickly shows a knack for trade—and a disturbing attraction to Carver's beautiful, sensual daughter, Elizabeth. With luck and intelligence—and not without bloodshed—he rises into the rice-planting aristocracy of the Carolina Lowcountry, where a frontier spirit pulses beneath the superficial trappings of an agrarian society that is heading rapidly toward revolution.

Story
A young, naïve but ultimately courageous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall towers above his rivals—in stature if not experience. Tagging along is his diminutive squire, a boy called Egg—whose true name is hidden from all he and Dunk encounter. Though more improbable heroes may not be found in all of Westeros, great destinies lay ahead for these two . . . as do powerful foes, royal intrigue, and outrageous exploits. Featuring more than 160 all-new illustrations by Gary Gianni, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a must-have collection that proves chivalry isn’t dead—yet.

Story
Originally drawn to Yaqui Indian spiritual leader don Juan Matus for his knowledge of mind-altering plants, best-selling author Carlos Castaneda soon immersed himself in the sorcerer's magical world entirely. Ten years after his first encounter with the shaman, Castaneda examines his field notes and comes to understand what don Juan knew all along - that these plants are merely a means to understanding the alternative realities that one cannot fully embrace on one's own.

Audible has offered most of these titles in their unabridged format, and the readers are excellent. Kate Reading and Michael Kramer are superior in their interpretations of Robert Jordan's characters.
It is quite regrettable that Audible does not offer the whole unabridged series, and I hope this oversight will be corrected to the benefit of thousands of listeners

I love the first book in the series because I get to meet the characters when they are sweet, young and trusting. I love reading how they change over time and how they become strong through trials but there is something wonderful about the innocence of the first half of the first book that I love.
Great story, Great performance
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
THIS BOOK IS A GREAT BOOK THAT REVEALS SO VERY MUCH TURNS AND CURVES, SUSPENSE AND ENERGY THAT I TOO, WANTED TO REST WHEN THE CHARACTERS NEEDED TO REST. I BECAME ACGRY AND ANNOYED WITH MATT FOR TAKING THE KNIFE; ANXIOUS WITH RYAN FOR ASKING SO MANY QUESTIONS AND SAYING TOO MUCH WHEN ANSWEREING A QUESTION ASKED OF HIM. I FOUND MYSELF IN THE DARK, RUNNING FROM "FADES" AND OTHER DANGERS; CLIMBING, RIDING HORSES, BEING FEARFUL AND SLIPPING FROM DANGEROUS SITUATIONS.
THIS NOVEL IS SO WONDERFUL IT IS DIFFICULT TO WRITE A TRUS REVIEW OF IT.
MY ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT WOULD BE THAT I WANTED THE STORY TO CONTINUEFOR ANOTHER 53 CHAPTERS. INSTEAD OF HEARING "THIS IS THE LAST CHAPTER", I HOPE THA AUTHOR WILL HAVE FUTURE CHAPTERS FOR THE MANY ADVENTURE OF THE 8 CHARACTERS. THERE APPEARS TO BE A WEALTH OF REASONS WHY "WHAT HAPPENS NEXT" COULD CONTINUE IN THIS CIRLCE OF LIFE..LIGHT AND DARKNESS...I DO HPE SO1
IN THE MEANTIME, I AM OFF TO PURCHASE THIS ADVENTURE IN THE HARDCOVER BOOK1..THANKS
