About this listen

Epic fantasy legend, and author of number-one New York Times best-selling series The Wheel of Time®, Robert Jordan's never-before published novel, Warrior of the Altaii....

Draw near and listen, or else time is at an end. The watering holes of the Plain are drying up, the fearsome fanghorn grow more numerous, and bad omens abound. Wulfgar, a leader of the Altaii people, must contend with twin queens, warlords, prophets, and magic in hopes of protecting his people and securing their future. Elspeth, a visitor from another world, holds the answers, but first Wulfgar must learn to ask the right questions.

But what if the knowledge that saves the Altaii will also destroy them?

“Jordan has come to dominate the world Tolkien began to reveal.” (The New York Times)

I would gladly have given a 5 star review if it had turned into a series instead of just one book

would have gone 5 stars if it had been serious

One can see the beginnings of the wheel of time. I won't spoil it for you...

loved it

I loved identifying the nascent cultures that arose from this world. It was fun to hear Loyal’s: ”too hasty comments” coming from the scholarly Most High.

Big Bang Theory for the Wheel of Time

I enjoyed the story that picked up right in the midst of a people’s struggle to survive both literally and figuratively.

Good adventure fantasy!

I have read Robert Jordan many, many times. I reread the entire Wheel of Time once every year. And this year I bought some of the new materials that have come out in the later years.

I expected this to be a glimmer of Wheel of Time, decent content with budding ideas and a new Author trying his first steps at something epic...

but it was very very good. I really understand now why the reaction lead this book to be an unpublished gem that springboarded RJ into what finally became WoT.

The Characters are very interesting and the magic and plot of this bas amazingly intriguing. I would have loved more books in this world.

I didn't think it was possible but my respect for RJ grew immensely from this read/listen.

To everyone that like WoT our there: READ THIS!

Surprisingly interesting

This was one of the best books to come out since the wheel of time.

Really great!

If you know the WoT and like Robert Jordan's writing you'll enjoy this book. It is a almost a Treatment for the WoT.

So I am a huge fan of the Eye of the World series, and admittedly a bit biased when it comes to Robert Jordan books. This did not disappoint at all. It definitely has parallels to that series, but they don’t detract from this book and they are not blatantly obvious. This book is darker, and I actually enjoyed the main character more. Now all we need is Brandon Sanderson coming up with the next twelve books in the series and true fans will be all set! No, in all seriousness, if you liked the Eye of the World Series you will undoubtedly enjoy the listen.
