About this listen

Riven Wrangleman is about to plummet into a new, monster-filled (hopefully) peaceful life.

F-Rank Foot soldier Riven Wrangleman has been shot out of the known world by humanity's worst enemy.

He falls through the sky, plummeting to his death except... He nullifies Fall Damage with his F-Rank Skill.

Battered, bleeding, and starving, Riven lies on the floor. But the danger isn't over.

A slime approaches.

He would be eaten... Except he isn't.

And so, Riven finds himself in a strange jungle, far from the known world, still alive and breathing. His Skills have been augmented in a shocking turn of events, and he can tame monsters now. Defeated, both physically and mentally, and with no way of making it back to the known world, Riven comes to terms that he is by all means retired.

No more soldiering, it's back to basics.

With his first tamed monsters, an exploring Slime and a giant Spider, Riven sets out to build a home for himself and thrive in this strange land.

Taming monsters, building homes, refining fruits, breeding slimes--erm, wait, no one's supposed to know that last one. Ahem, it's a whole new life for Riven Wrangleman.

Meanwhile, the land's biggest and most beautiful secret waits for someone to come rouse her. Should she return, the world will be forever changed. Riven's world most of all.

A heart-warming, monster-raising life is right around the corner for Riven to take.

The F-Rank Foot Soldier Became An S-Rank Monster Rancher is a light-hearted story of new beginnings and new potentials. Follow Riven as he makes the best of his forced retirement, tames monsters, finds friends, and uncovers the mysteries surrounding the world.

Slow start but picks up and is enjoyable.

Ok so I now have a weird statue fetish so thanks book. The comedy is great but slow to start but I was laughing my head off. The story is engaging and interesting and I can't wait to read more.

Decent isekai not isekai

Middle aged man get punted to deserted island via maou magic. Various creatures and monster girls appear as the main character base builds. Fairly standard with enough twists on the genre to keep it interesting.

The story is unusual as the antagonist is mostly mental. Conversations occur both verbally and less so, which helps with pacing over the more typical he said she said routine.

I will not pick up the next volume due to character bloat that will water down the interpersonal interactions (especially after what happens near the end.) Also, the main character has no real motivations, which will make the next books boring and repetitive.

Gold

This one was pretty good. Waiting on the next book.
The mc. Not a whiner. Had some issues, worked on them through out the whole story.
World building. They went into magic a little. Just enough to keep it interesting.
Adult / story ratio was on point. Just enough to add to the story.

Performance was good.

Fun and original story!

Entertaining and fresh new story. I enjoyed the characters, the voice acting, and the nods to both classic fantasy and RPGs.

Very Enjoyable Taming Novel

I think this is the best taming type novel I've read so far. I like that it isn't an isekai and that the tamed creatures are definitely interesting. I was really in the mood for an animal (or creature) companion book so this really hit the spot in that department. I also think the book had a great setting and the pacing was a good mix of slice of life and actually plot. There are a couple of sex scenes in the book and they were almost more funny than the usual feaver-dreamed cringe that these types of books usually contain, and I mean that in a good way. They were not that bad, except for, well, the fact that it was technically necrophilia. Did I mention it was sort of funny? Maybe I have a weird sense of humor. At any rate, I'm really loving the series so far and am super anxious for a sequel. Cheers.

Not sure

Idk about this one. It starts not bad but it quickly goes in to the mc giving up on getting back at the guy who ruined his life. Then goes on to simp hard for a statue(that speaks and lies to him) . I want to enjoy this but there is a lot that is utterly frustrating. For having a very similar series name as a great series from another author, this just drops the ball. I also find the riven camp supplies log to be worthless info. The author did something similar in cottage master and I found it wasted there too
