A set of sweet contemporary romances

You can't go wrong with a book by Heather B. Moore, she's an automatic read for me. This is a collection of four previously released novellas in a great collection. I enjoyed some of the stories more than others but all are well written and are clean romances.

FALLING FOR SYDNEY--Sydney seems to have the perfect life, and Rian's the perfect fiance that she's going to marry in a couple of weeks. Suddenly, and without any prior warning it all falls apart with a life shattering event that changes everything Sydney has imagined for her future. Instead of finding Rian at his apartment, she finds a man who claims to be his brother, Jake. Sydney discovers Rian was not the man she thought he was or pretended to be.

I don't know how I'd react to something so devastating but Sydney seemed to recover and bounce back a little too quickly for someone who was in love and almost married to another guy--even if he turned out to be a complete fraud. Her relationship with Jake felt a little rushed, although I liked Jake. Sydney's lucky to have girlfriends like Maria and June.

FALLING FOR MARIA--Maria loves her job but doesn't care at all for several of the changes that are being implemented since a new company bought them. She can't wear her bright colored wardrobe, decorate her cubicle/office and inter-office romances are forbidden. She tries to get her coworkers to support her when she questions their new boss, Walker, about the new policies, but when they don't back her up she considers quitting. Can her new swoony-worthy but rule following boss change her mind?

This was my favorite story in this set. Maria was spunky and wasn't afraid to question the need for all them to dress almost the same and do their work in drab cubicles/offices. I couldn't picture her with Josh, since he's the one who wanted to keep their relationship a secret. I thought it was funny when he changed his mind and she told him they weren't getting back together. I also thought the attraction and relationship with Walker was believable and didn't feel rushed.

FALLING FOR JUNE--June and her best friends, Sydney and Maria, are in Maui for a vacation. They have a gorgeous beach neighbor, Lance, who's very interested in June. She's not keen on having a vacation fling, but she's definitely attracted to Lance and the sparks are there. Lance is a great guy, he and June spend a lot of time together. Sydney and Maria encourage her in this new relationship when they find out Lance and June live an hour away from each other.

This is a wonderful getaway story--I mean it's Hawaii! I liked how Lance encouraged June to try new things since her latest boyfriend was a jerk who demeaned her and took away some of her self confidence. I didn't feel their relationship felt rushed since they were in Hawaii for a week and spent quite a bit of time together, although I wish this one were a little longer so I could get more of June and Lance's story once they were back home.

FALLING FOR LUCY--Can you relate to having a sibling who's perfect? If so, then you'll be able to relate to Lucy, who's older sister Sydney is "perfect". Lucy can't seem to find her place in this world. She's dropped out of college--college isn't for everyone--and has recently been fired from her latest job, but it looks like things are about to change for Lucy. She gets a job at a bookstore, which is basically her dream job because she LOVES to read. Then she meets her boss, Adam.

I loved this story because Lucy is just trying to find where she fits in. It's evident she's found her place in this independently owned bookstore as she starts suggesting small changes to bring in customers and Adam agrees with her. I love the scene of the store's first storytime, where she wears a costume and how she interacts with the kids. Of course Adam fell in love with her.

Clean but steamy novellas

Clean but steamy novellas. Because of the short format, there’s insta-love. If you are ok with that, then you’ll enjoy the books. I’m not usually a fan of insta-love, but really enjoyed the entire ‘Falling For’ series.

Falling for Sydney (3 stars)

Sydney feels that something is wrong with her fiancé He's seemed distracted and it has her wondering if it's just her, or if something is going on. Enter his older brother who is a broad-shouldered, handsome, responsible, caring rancher. Just the man to enlighten and then comfort her. ;-)

Falling for Maria (3 stars)

Maria and her boyfriend, Josh, have been keeping their relationship a secret. Along comes a corporate take-over complete with new rules about inter-office dating (among other things). It's the straw that breaks the camel's back for Maria and Josh's relationship. After that...? Well, let's just say things move quickly (it IS a novella, after-all!)

Falling for June (3 stars)

It is easy to relate to June and her insecurities, but as another reviewer stated, hard to connect with her...That said, it was fun to experience, second-hand, her falling in love and gaining more confidence as a result. This is a novella, so insta-love plays a role, although tempered by the ending--spoiler alert-- where both admit that something special has happened and that they are both willing to face difficulties to try to make their budding relationship work.

Falling for Lucy (3.5 stars)

“Falling for Lucy” was a great addition to the series. (I wish it had been longer than a novella; I wasn’t ready for it to end!)

I loved Lucy’s character; her insecurities and strengths felt authentic. Adam and his family are so realistic-complete with all their issues. It felt so right that these two clicked and was enjoyable watching the slow burn build to something more.

Narration: (4.5 stars)

Ms. Sands has a voice I could listen to forever. It's calming and smooth. She’s excellent! So much expression! She’s also got great pacing and men’s voices that sound like men.

*poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special

the 'order' should be Lucy, June, Maria, Sydney, so references to 'significant others' align with wher÷e they ended up.

Full of romance and fun!

I enjoyed these stories of romance for a group of strong women and men who have enough strength and self confidence to appreciate that. These stories are sweet, surprising and full of spine-tingling romance!

Good Series

Sydney
Brothers, one she is engaged to, and now gone. Meeting brother Jake is he the real thing. Good short story of brothers and secrets.
Maria
One loves Maria, she is fun, flirty and loves Josh. Everything changes with a new boss and company policy. She is young, but against the rules, and her mode of dress, that is too much. Will she switch jobs and what about this new boss Delightful and enjoyed the audio.
June
June and friends come to Maui, with sunsets, beaches and Lance next door. Would this guy be any different if she stayed. Her books are always good and this was sweet and easy to listen to.
Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion I

Great series

Each story is unique, sweet, and filled with emotion, hope and love. The books draw you in so that you don’t want to put them down without finishing them. Xe Sands does a fantastic job narrating these books and bringing the characters to life.

Fun and easy listen - perfect for the summer!

Four short stories about a group of friends finding love! The stories are well thought out and entertaining, and the narrator is one of my favorites. It feels like I’m listening to a friend sharing her days with me! Heather B. Moore is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I have yet to read something I didn’t enjoy.
