About this listen

Amish stories from Barnville, Pennsylvania, population 1,300.

Planting Seeds - Caleb Fisher and his family welcome the new neighbors to their community. When a misunderstanding takes all of the quiet out of his peaceful life, he begins to wonder what type of seeds he has sown. Is the redheaded Ruby a gift from God or a thorny weed in his garden?

Pulling Weeds - Caleb Fisher's "interchangeable" twin sisters, Emma and Lizzie, are up to their old tricks. When their prank backfires in the worst possible way, can Caleb sort out his sisters and their suitors?

A Harvest of Brides - Caleb and Ruby's big day is approaching quickly. However, this courting season, his sisters find that their path toward marriage is not so smooth. Along with usual wedding preparations, Caleb is distracted. What is the secret his father is keeping?

Forging Friendships - Sometimes, the best way to see where we're headed is to consider where we have been. This is the story of Otto Lapp and how God uses imperfect men in his perfect plan.

Building a Future - After wedding-season excitement, the couples settle down to the challenges of newly married life. While the households are being set up, Ruby has concerns, and Naomi feels some growing pains of her own.

I got half way through and couldn’t stomach anymore. Narration was terrible. Storyline was like something read in middle school. As an avid reader of Amish fiction and respect for the Amish faith (I am from Lancaster County) I was deeply disappointed in this book.

Juvenile and boring.
