Bizarre ending.

I wasn't sure if I had the correct book for the longest time. Don't know where you get to here the actual ending. Not sure about continuing the series.

Propitious start to a chilling new series

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Fourteenth Protocol?

Escape from Atlanta

Any additional comments?

Nathan spins a complex tale of spiraling terror. Characters are well developed with flaws and talents. Looking forward to more.

The book stops before the end.

The story is good, but the book stops before the end and wants you to go to the authors web site to get the end. I will get a refund instead.

Bring on the next book

Wow, I really enjoyed this book, unlikely heroes and and super achievers falling short. A great group of characters. The villains are blood thirsty and are psychotic... What else could you ask for? Oh, yea new fresh ideas about terrorism is in America.

This author really knows how to set you up for the conclusion only to tell you continued in the next iBook the 15th protocol.

For me hurry up and get that book to audible....I am ready now!

Just terrible

What would have made The Fourteenth Protocol better?

better dialogue, better reader, better storyline

What was most disappointing about Nathan A. Goodman’s story?

reader and dialogue

How could the performance have been better?

skip the phony, bogus southern accents

Any additional comments?

ridiculous dialogue "listen up people" how many times did we have to hear that. Lame effort to hype the sequel by not finishing this story. Just overall bad.

Can't skip to the last chapter... It's not there

The characters are well developed, the plot is interesting and keeps you thinking. My problem with this story (I'll try not to spoil anything) is that The CIA would never be involved in the things they were involved in on US soil as they were in this book. The story line would have been better if Goodman found a more believable rouge group or an outcast individual to perpetuate the crimes within the story.

I also found the lack of research done by the author to be a distraction. Inaccuracies around weapons and military equipment should not be so difficult to incorporate into the story line accurately. One example: One character looks into an Apache Helicopter and sees another character sitting next to the pilot. It is a very basic detail of Apache and Cobra helicopters that the cockpit is a tandem configuration. The pilot and navigator sit with on seat in front and one elevated behind. There is certainly no way for two people sitting next to one another.

Finally, the last chapter is not in the book. Goodman writes that he left the ending open for the reader to fill in the ending the way they want and that he had no idea that there would be a book to follow. The result is that if you want to see how a few significant story lines are concluded by the author, you need to go to a web site, enter your email address and you will immediately be sent a PDF file containing the final chapter.

It's a real shame as this story had real potential to be a really tight novel. The 14th Protocol will likely be my last Protocol.

Cheated

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I'm half way through my run and the story quits on me. "Stay tuned for the next installment" - not.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I liked it until, at the very end, it dunked me in the cold water.
