About this listen
Acclaimed author Karen White returns to Charleston, South Carolina, with the second novel in the New York Times best-selling Tradd Street series.
Melanie Middleton has grown accustomed to renovating old houses, but she never imagined she'd have to renovate her own life to include her estranged mother. Ginnette Prioleau Middleton left Charleston 35 years ago. She's returned wanting to protect the daughter she's never really known after receiving an ominous premonition.
Melanie never wanted to see her mother again, but with some prodding from her partner, Jack Trenholm, she agrees - and begins to rebuild their relationship. Together Melanie and Ginnette buy back their old home. With their combined psychic abilities they expect to unearth some ghosts. But what they find is a vengeful dark spirit whose strength has been growing for decades. It will take unearthing long buried secrets to beat this demon and save what's left of Melanie's family....

Story
Folly Beach, South Carolina, has survived despite hurricanes and war. But it's the personal battles of Folly Beach's residents that have left the most scars, and they are why a young widow has been beckoned there to heal her own. To most people, Folly Beach is simply the last barrier island before reaching the great Atlantic. To some, it's a sanctuary for lost souls, which is why Emmy Hamilton's mother encourages her to buy a local bookstore, Folly's Finds, hoping it will distract Emmy from the loss of her husband.

Another good book from Karen White.
This is my second audio book from Karen White and I'm getting hooked on this series. The story was good the characters were still enjoyable, even the new one's that were introduced. The narration was good but Ms. Bruneau has a tendency to read with periods at the end of words. Meaning, she. has. a. way. of. reading. that. is. kind. of. disjointed. She doesn't do this all the time but enough that it is noticeable. Obviously it didn't bother me enough to stop listening or not want to listen to the next book in the series but it did get a bit annoying.
Anyway, this series is clean except for a few kisses and suggested sexual play. Good book!

The Girl on Legare Street
This book was good but I kept getting confused because there were so many characters “from the past”. Maybe it was because I listened to it instead of reading it. I really needed a family tree 🙂. I will definitely read book 3 - after all, I have to find out what happens in the next chapter in Millie and Jack’s relationship!

SO GOOD!
I couldn't stop listening to this story... literally finished it in 2 days! Laughed, cried & felt perfectly scared throughout the whole thing. Wow... great story, perfect narration and fun ending! Can't wait for the next one!

Charmed by Charleston not the story
Too much ghost, spirit talk for my taste but will read more in the series to see if it becomes better.
