About this listen

‘Stayed up late finishing this, just had to know what happened, brilliant final twist! Gripping page-turner with great characters’ Sunday Times bestselling author B A Paris

She says she’s innocent.
DO YOU BELIEVE HER?

2013

Melissa Slade had it all: beauty, money, a successful husband and beautiful twin babies. But, in the blink of an eye, her perfect life became a nightmare – when she found herself on trial for the murder of her little girls.

PRESENT DAY

Jonathan Hunt covered the original Slade Babies case for the local newspaper. Now that new evidence has come to light, Jon's boss wants him back on the story to uncover the truth.

With Melissa's appeal date looming, time is running out. And, as Jon gets drawn deeper into a case he’d wanted to forget, he starts to question Melissa's guilt.

Is Melissa manipulating Jon or telling him the truth? Is she a murderer, or the victim of a miscarriage of justice?

And if Melissa Slade is innocent, what really happened to Ellie and Amber Slade?

Sad but good

This book is heartbreaking but very intriguing. I normally refrain from books that include the death of a child but I gave this one a shot and it was really good.

Incredible Book with GREAT narration!

I loved this book. I bought ithis book because Charlie Sanderson was the narrator. She is an incredible narrator. I was not disappointed. Philip Stevens is also incredible. I didn't want to stop listening.

Good story... but lots of “extras”

This story had a great twist and the characters were all well-developed… I truly enjoyed it. The narrators were also fabulous, especially the male narrator. However, there was a lot of unnecessary clutter and details that I thought were going to connect somehow, but really didn’t. It was also slightly slow, but all of that being said, it was clever and creative & I would recommend it.

A Guilty Pleasure....

Even though many aspects of the book were disturbing and anything but pleasurable, it was a treat to listen to a gripping story that really moved from the very beginning to the end.

The book's characters were well-developed and compelling and the storyline had many twists and turns --- keeping you guessing the ending until the very last sentence was spoken.

This was the first time that I have listened to the male narrator --- and he was superb. Hopefully, he will continue to narrate books in this genre.

I highly recommend this title.

Awesome!...

Great twists, writing and narration. I really enjoyed this book. It starts a little slow but when it gets going you can't put it down. Recommended.
