About this listen

A Scottish Time Travel Romance

The vacation of her nightmares just might hold the key to her heart.

Eleanor Ackard always knows the right thing to do to help her patients when it comes to their relationships, but when an almost-vacation with her immature boyfriend makes it clear that she needs to take her own advice, she rethinks her plans and sets off on a solo vacation to Scotland. But when a boat tour ends up with her stranded inside a haunted castle, Eleanor is faced with the opportunity to change history. Thrilled to escape her mundane routine for just a little while, she jumps at the chance, never expecting for a moment that it’s her heart that is as likely to change as history.

Monroe Dune never thought it would be a simple wound that would fell him. Resigned to his fate, he sets sail to return to his castle intent on being the last person to ever live on the Isle of Dune. His plans are upended when a mysterious stowaway who refuses to let him die ends up trapped on the isle with him. Despite his best efforts to keep the lass at bay, she slowly but surely finds a place within his heart. Does he love her enough to send her away? Or can they find a way to change history and find happiness together?

Perfect Christmas Gift for Commuters

I’m a Bethany Claire fan because she successfully transports me back to Scotland with each of her Morna’s Legacy books and novellas. Lily Collingwood’s narration is fun to listen to as she uses different voices and accents for the characters. As usual, Bethany wrote another intriguing, romantic, adventure that takes the monotony out of a long daily commute. Instead, she turns it into such an enjoyable drive that you might even sit in your driveway when you get home because you can’t stop listening. My favorite character is Jerry, Morna’s husband, because he’s the sensible one of the two, which makes me look forward to hearing from him in each book.

The Haunting of Castle Dune

You can tell that Bethany enjoyed writing this book. Even ghost can love and be loved. This is an enchanting story and yes Morna gets involved again, she is so good at it. This book is a little different from the rest of Bethany’s books but just as good. Give it a chance you’ll love it.

Time travel

I love time travel stories , S Scottish stories about the past. How the person who travels back in time either has a commitment to change the problems. The people have in the castles. Or in fact, they don’t know they traveled back in time and how they handle it. It’s a hoot. This is a really good story, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it

A Heartwarming Story of Healing

Let me start off by saying Lily Collingwood is one of the most amazing narrators around. She can take a story and make you believe that you are listen to several different voices. She slides in and out of each character and their accents with such ease that it makes you forget that it is just one person narrating the book.

The witch, Morna, is back to her meddling, match making, and time traveling antics again. Morna’s poor husband, Jerry is always trying to stop her from interfering in other peoples lives. SMH. If you have never read any of Morna’s Legacy Series it doesn’t matter. All of Ms Claire’s books can be read as a stand-alone but this is one is particularly a good book since it develops around a minor character introduced in another book.

Eleanor and Monroe’s story is very touching tale.

In 1640, Monroe is dying and his soul is destined to haunt Castle Dune because of a curse put on his family’s home by a witch. Everyone on the isle that has died since the curse was placed has haunted the castle. To keep any others from this faith he sends all that live on the isle, where the castle is located, to the mainland. Monroe has lived in seclusion ever since.

Eleanor is a psychologist who has just broken up with her deadbeat boyfriend right before leaving on vacation. Since Eleanor has the time off she decides to go to Scotland spur of the moment by a randomly sent pamphlet. Now in the present day the government wants to tear the haunted castle down. Morna just can’t allow that to happen. Morna chooses Eleanor to travel through time to discover how these hauntings can be stopped.

And of course since both Eleanor and Monroe are single, all the better.

Ms Claire always weaves a tale full of humor, a few heart tugging moments, some intrigue, and a touch of romance and passion mixed in here and there. This was easy to listen to and quite enjoyable. I do recommend it.

Good but prime for a full book!

The story wasn’t as well developed because, well, it’s a novella. I feel like Claire could have gone so much further with the characters. The only disappointment I have is that I wasn’t able to connect with the characters as much as in her other books.

Another wonderful time travel by Bethany Claire

I loved this story, however, I wish it had been a full length novel. Monroe and Eleanor were great characters and of course, Jerry and Morna don’t disappoint. Can’t wait for the next in the series.

Evil Witches

I love the author's writing, but the narrator brings the characters to life. Worth reading!

Wonderful Short Story

This story might be short but it packs a lot of wonderful feelings into it. Morna can't help herself in trying to be a matchmaker along with trying to find a way to stop the Castle Dune from being haunted. She sends Eleanor back in time to change history so the castle won't be haunted. Eleanor meets Monroe Dune who is gravely wounded and expects to die. Morna has sent a potion with Eleanor that helps Monroe heal. After Monroe is healed, Eleanor figures out that she still has a job ahead of her to stop the Castle Haunting. I really enjoyed this storyline and hopefully, we'll hear more about Eleanor and Monroe in the future. As usual, Lily Collingwood does a fantastic job of narrating with the different accents and male and female voices.
