Publisher's summary

Gangsters, aristocrats, offworlders . . . What difference does it make? To Mikhail Bulatov, none whatsoever. Any of them could be friend or foe, and he could care less what world they're from or what their place is in the social order.

As for his enemies, any conversation will be equally brief, even if different in content. And yes, those out to get him are ramping up their efforts, and increasing in number. Not that there's any question of his ability to handle it all.

That being said, he must not lose sight of who he is. First and foremost, he is a Healer.

Good Story

The story felt short to me but I enjoyed it. If you have enjoyed the previous books, I imagine you will like this one too.

There wasn't much progression in this particular book. I feel like the author is trying for a really slow burn on the character progression.

I enjoyed the additional travels the main character took in this book.

I was really annoyed at his "Turtle Up" approach to his own property. While he did finally spend some time in rifts this time, the vast majority of the book is defense.

Moves a bit slow, but it is still a good story.

An excellent story, though I find that it moves a bit slow and stories from this author tend to follow a very standardized form. Despite all of this, it’s still a very good and entertaining story.

Keep them coming

My one and only issue with this series is that the new books don't arrive soon enough.
