About this listen

I had lain down in my crypt to rest for a few decades, but when I awoke, centuries had passed. My castle is in ruins, my clan is gone, and necromancers are considered just a fairy tale for children.

They take me for a healer. That's because the world is sick. And it's time for strong medicine.

Excellent!

I found this story engaging and fun to listen too.
It happens in a parallel contemporary fantasy world. Magic and technology intertwine in the most fascinating way. While describing all this, the author takes a few jibes at modern society quirks. It also has an interesting outtake on amorality from powerful people or entities.
Somehow, the author knows how to keep a light tone through all this and make you smile.
It is at a crossroad between epic and urban fantasy, and I found the entire narrative new and captivating.
Good narration.

If you like russian lit, then you're like this

This seems to be either somebody's read up on the newest court crop of russian Litrpg And then decided to distill them into this series. I like it. They've taken out all of the male chauviness for the most part and all the good parts from all these other series and put them into this series. It's good start.Hope it keeps up its momentum

A Standout in Russian LitRPG

The Dark Healer is an outstanding addition to the Russian LitRPG genre. This story hits all the right notes: compelling character development, a protagonist who’s satisfyingly overpowered, and a magic system that sparks curiosity about where it could lead in future installments.

The balance between action, progression, and world-building is masterful, with the protagonist’s growth feeling both earned and exciting. The OP element is handled perfectly—it’s fun and empowering without taking away from the story’s tension or stakes.

If you’re a fan of classics like The Way of the Shaman or Reality Benders, you’ll definitely want to check this out. It’s a fantastic blend of the familiar tropes we love in Russian LitRPG with a fresh twist. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series!

Good but short book

The book was really good. It kept me engaged all the way through. Only issue was the book was short and a little light on action for my taste. When the Audible version is available for the second book, I will be getting it.
