About this listen
In an era of genetic engineering, Henry Gallant is the only Natural left in the United Planets' fleet.
With the space fleet on the verge of annihilation from the alien invasion, analyzing the captured computer in Gallant's possession is critical to stopping them. He can expect no help as he navigates through threatening aliens on his way to Mars, and his shipmates doubt he is up to the challenge.
But as the last starfighter in Squadron 111, the lives of his shipmates, as well as a good many others, depend on Henry Gallant. The struggle for the galactic empire hangs in the balance.
For fans of Honor Harrington and Horatio Hornblower.
Follow the career of a young officer in the 22nd Century genetically engineered space navy.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
Compiled by intrepid journalist Neve Pride, this archive of recordings spans the months after dragons emerged on earth, chronicling the communities that sprang up amid the destruction, the scientists, military leaders, and experts searching for a defense, and those steadfastly seeking the missing. Neve and her young daughter Bex travel among the wreckage speaking to those left behind and surviving, against all odds. Neve records everything for history, and in the hopes of locating a clue as to where the dragons came from and how one might stop them.

Story
The war between different alien groups lasted for over 2,300 years. But Keith Robinson didn't know anything about that. He assumed that the job he had applied for was to work on an Arctic research ship. He thought that he would be assembling parts for upgraded sonar buoys. He thought wrong. The AI on the derelict spaceship was open to lying if that could finally get the ship repaired. Hiring a repair technician from the primitive planet Earth was a crazy plan. And even crazier, it worked. After salvaging an alien ship, Keith now finds himself the ship's owner. But something is deadly wrong ...

ai learning needs to re-learn a few things.
someone needs to load military diction and have someone listen to it before releasing. leave out the chapter listing and get the damn thing to say O. O. D. and not ooooodd, or J. O. O. D. LCDR, lt. commander.
I agree with others here that the story was great, there were a lot of dead pauses and some of the audio cut out. virtual voice could used a tad bit more polishing. nothing like having an editor listen and correct these issues before release.

Not a fan of the AI reader
The books are good but the AI reading means no inflection, feeling or voice changes of any kind. It made the book cold and at times hard to follow

Never Pay For Virtual Voice
This is the first virtual voice title I've listened to, and I'm glad I didn't pay for it. I've heard worse narration, but this wasn't good.
The story was a typical alien invasion space adventure, I've read better but also far worse.

Interesting military operations in space.
Pretty well written in all but the writing is tip toeing around the prejudices that Henry Galliant has to deal with on a daily basis. The writer has introduced several people who are actively trying to destroy Henry's military career. Then there is the son of a corporate CEO who is such a wet blanket.
None of those issues are addressed. No Henry just stands there and nods his head like a bobble head.
Honestly while the book is interesting likely 10 times better if read. The Robot narration is awful. The electronic narration had no flow of words or credible inflections of emotions of the appropriate kind at the appropriate place.
Then there was the dead spots. I actually checked my phone to see if the Audible app had turned off!
It might be a very good idea to boost the sales of the audio book by having a real person read it aloud. I know I would probably do a sorry job narrating these books but still it would be better than the automated narration.

Excellent story
Wonderful narrative bristling with believable action and emotions. I definitely hope that the author intends to continue the series.

The Story is OK. The performance 👎🏻
The voice had little modulation. There was no voice change for different characters. The intonation was incorrect sometimes.
