About this listen

An innocent beauty takes society by storm - and a worldly lord by surprise.

Morag Fleming, the Countess of Murr, had been bride to the most lecherous lord in Scotland - yet this ravishingly lovely girl had never been touched. Needless to say, she had never borne a child; yet as a young widow she came to London with a fine son in tow.

Her background had left her ignorant of the follies and fopperies of fashion, but soon all of society was at her feet. Most incredible of all, she knew so little about the ways and wiles of love yet set her heart upon none other than the devastatingly handsome, charming, and wealthy Lord Toby Freemantle, who could have any woman he chose and clearly chose not to have her.

I had a slight problem getting into the story.
I'm fairly certain that it was more the mood I was in than the story itself. Loved the storyline and all of the varied characters. Morag was wonderfully likeable and believably innocent. I liked her loyalty and I loved Toby's delayed conscience. The intrigue was great and I was mildly surprised at the villain in the story. Good enough to listen to again or give as gift. The narration was better than most and didn't interfere with the story. Male voices pretty good for a change. Good clean romance.

Slow start great ending

This was a very enjoyable book. I think this is the first time I’ve listened to Alison Larkin. I really really like her. You can really hear each character instead of wondering which one it is and she is very good at speaking like a man and a child. Not many narrator’s can do that. Thanks Alison!

Fun story. GREAT narration!

Light fare and can't go wrong with Marion Chesney for an easy way to while away a few hours.

Not bad

I just love Marion Chesney’s storytelling. She does a great job taking a saturated genre and coming up with original twists and turns.

Fun Adventure

I have listened to many of MC Chesney books. This was the worst. I only finished it because I thought for sure it would start getting better. Sadly, it did not.
The characters lacked any credibility.
I will continue to listen to MC Chesney. I’m writing this book off as a fluke.

Love the Author, NOT this book though!
