Publisher's summary

Enjoy your vacation at the Hummingbird Sanctuary, Colorado’s hottest resort destination. Come for the mountains, stay for the charm, and enjoy the drama as Olive, Eleanor, and Harriet figure out their lives, their loves, and the meaning of true friendship.

Owning and operating the Hummingbird Sanctuary was supposed to be the best time of Olive Zyntarski’s life. She was going to tackle the future with eyes wide open and forget about her guilty conscience. All that changes when a chance meeting with a mysterious new guest has Olive’s long-buried secrets bubbling to the surface.

As marketing director, Eleanor Fitzwallace knows how to present everything in its best light—everything except her nonexistent love life. When her high school heartbreak unexpectedly saunters into the Sanctuary’s restaurant, Eleanor’s determined to ignore her. She wants real love, and people don’t change, do they?

After hitting rock bottom, Harriet Marshall made a promise to herself: no more one-night stands that make her feel bad about herself. She’s determined to turn her life around, and that means focusing on keeping the Sanctuary’s restaurant and bar hip, trendy, and booked solid. So, of course, she meets the most gorgeous woman ever, and everything changes.

A sanctuary

Great story! My only critique is the narrator didn’t give much range in voices for the characters which was then hard to distinguish who was speaking.

Sanctuary

This was a lovely, well written novel. I loved that ending article “On The Verge” by Mabel. It was a thoughtful way of describing the three main characters. Their supporting cast of characters were equally interesting and lovely. Since we know what happens at the end to Harriet and Judy, it would be nice to have separate books for Sunny and Mabel. They deserve ending of their own.

Lula Larkin was wonderful in the narration of this book! Well done!

Very good because it’s very different…

This story was not formulaic and I really appreciated that. So, thank you Erin Zak.
I found the characters and their experiences to be very believable and realistic. I really liked the way the story was laid out and how it all unfolded. I left the book feeling invested.
I would have given 5 stars if not for some unfinished elements/explanations. Maybe it was due to editing..? I would have loved for this to have been more of a series rather than one long book. For me, it either needed to be longer so that some things could have been dived into and rounded off, or broken up into two or three books in order to get more depth out of some characters and situations. Having said all of that, I am not disappointed and really loved the story itself as well as the characters portrayed.
Lula Larkin did a fairly good job narrating. My only critique is that I had a hard time distinguishing between characters. Hattie was the only consistently obvious voice to me.
Good book. I’m sure I’ll be listening to this one again.

Ultimate friendship

This is a story of friendship, love and healing... Well worth the listen and some very wise words in the epilog.

The Hummingbird Sanctuary ❤️

I always enjoy the emotional rides that Erin Zak takes me on.

Three best friends, Olive, Eleanor, and Harriet, start the Hummingbird Sanctuary - a resort and spa that caters to women. It's a monumental task for any are person, let alone three, and it sets the stage that showcases the ladies' dynamics amongst themselves. They are about to host a journalist and friends who is going to do an article on the resort over a grand event weekend. Yep , bring on the stress, pressure, and frustration. When the journalist party (Mabel, Sunny, and Judy) arrives, they seem to throw a wrench in the relationship of Olive, Eleanor, and Harriet that will shake things up and definitely change their lives forever.

What I truly loved about this book was the celebration of friendship. All friends go through trials and tribulations, but to see how Olive, Eleanor, and Harriet come out in the end of this was beautiful. It showed how much they loved and trusted each other, how much they're committed to each other, how they support one another - just beautiful ❤️
