This was a great series. The characters were well defined, the storyline keeps you involved and wanting more. The last book was a prequel, I love a good prequel and seeing what happened to lead up to all of the main story. I highly recommend reading this book, it is also clean for the younger teens to read.

This was an interesting series to read. The narration was great and did a good job differentiating between characters. My one knock is the the series might be ordered in release order and there is a pre-series novella at the end. I am ocd and would have listened to that first if I had known it was there. This was a completely new series for me and i prefer to start listening without any info about it so as to not have preconceived ideas of how it should be.

Book one was good with great world building. Nivi made me mad sometimes with her naïveté but it fit into the storyline. Book two had me pulling out my hair. The ending had me in tears wondering if I could continue. I was mad it ended in the way it did and wanted to give up entirely thinking there were two more books and wondering what the bleep just happened. I started book three hesitantly only because it’s a full series and the narration just keeps going. Eventually I warmed up to it and was satisfied with the ending although the whole missing memories bit crushed my soul. Book 4 is a pre series novella as mentioned before. I initially thought it would continue the story. Book 3 wrapped up decently so i had hoped it would include some relationship development and a more conclusive HEA for Nivi. Nope, it’s a novella with details of what happened to make Nivi a reaper and start the war. It made sense and filled in a lot of blanks which was nice but I really should have listened to it first. It became clear that I very much dislike Eva and I’m good with Silas’ downfall. I would have loved more post underworld character and relationship development from Nivi and Kane. While it wrapped up nicely, I want more for them.

Winters had me on the edge of my seat from the first several pages until the very end of this series. This compilation of books is a must have for any urban fantasy readers out there. Winters paints an amazing setting, builds fantastic characters, and tells an amazing story that will leave you thrilled with your experience. I'd rate it more stars if I could.

I read this series a while back so when I saw it was in audio I jumped at the chance to grab it. It was just as immersing as I remember. While the narrator doesn't read all the characters as I imagined them in my head, she still manages to bring this wonderful tale to life.

This is one of my favorite series!! Nivian just settled into my heart and she's stayed there! I loved reading all about Nivi's experiences and her thirst for humanity. Kain is pretty incredible too. I loved how he was drawn to Nivian and how he just wanted to treasure her. Their devotion absolutely had no bounds! I loved the very rich world building and storytelling!! We get to delve into such detailed history and the past and present just evoke all these huge feelings. Even the supporting characters will captivate and pique your interest. Keeping the balance is the hardest thing to achieve and yet these ah-mazing characters do just that! Ali Winters is such a masterful storyteller and her worlds and words just utterly mesmerize.

so I have previously listened to this series individually and must say this series is worth re-listening to if you love stories about reapers.
