About this listen

The South Channel lighthouse is a crumbling antique at the mouth of the Savannah River, abandoned and forgotten for generations. Local stories still tell of a mysterious woman in white who often stood at the old lighthouse, watching the sailors come into port...even long after she died.

Now the property by the lighthouse is owned by a famous movie star in search of a remote beach getaway on sleepy Tybee Island. Unfortunately, old ghosts haunt her new retreat, stirred up by the construction of a luxurious new mansion. Ellie, Stacey, and their team must remove the ghosts, who grow more dangerous and aggressive every night, threatening the lives of the client and her family and personal staff.

The lighthouse has a dark history, with many ghosts, and mysteries to unravel before Ellie can send them on to the other side.

Suspenseful, creepy, and sprinkled with humor

The Keeper
Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper
By: J. L. Bryan
Narrated by: Carla Mercer-Meyer
I love this series! This book deals with a lot of issues! The business, Ellie's relationship, a ghost/ghosts at a movie star's house by the beach and a lighthouse, and a magician ghost. Ellie's soul still is slipping out of her body...
Really creepy book!
Narrator is always so good with these books! Terrific performance!

Kept me Guessing

I really liked some of the character development and the dualities that were displayed. I worried this series would get easier to guess what was happening as I got further in but it's kept me happily surprised.

A Great Series

It surprised me to learn the author of this series is a man because he writes very interesting female leads. Ellie’s and Stacy’s dynamic is worth the listen: the snark, relationship, the ghost hunting adventures- all great stuff. The ghost stuff is quite spooky and violent at times. Paranormal cozies these aren’t!

Well developed characters and plot

This story is well written with fully developed characters. I was so hooked in that certain chapters made me feel like I wanted to give advice to the characters, "Ellie don't do it!!"

Almost back (spoiler)

In my review of the last book, I stated that I would not be continuing with this series after this book if the abusive work environmet wasn't resolved. Thankfully it was. While I would have chosen another way, I'm just happy Overall, this book was good. There were a couple of story lines that could have been fleshed out some. Such as the lighthouse family and her relationship with Michael. All and all, I'm thrilled that I don't have to read about PSI anymore and, particularly Cara. I will continue to follow Ellie and her ghost trapper team.
