Publisher's summary

When a group of international activists arrive on the Faroe Islands intent on stopping the traditional whale hunts, or grindadrap, tensions between islanders and protestors run high. And when a woman is found murdered only hours after a violent confrontation at a whale drive, the circumstances seem purposely designed to create even more animosity between the two sides.

For Faroese detective Hjalti Hentze and DI Jan Reyna, the case quickly exposes personal connections and conflicts of interest. But as they dig deeper, it becomes increasingly clear that the murder has other more sinister aspects to it. Knowing evidence is being hidden from them, and faced with deception on all sides, neither Reyna nor Hentze knows who to trust or how far some people might go to defend their beliefs.

Absolutely love this series

Found these stories by clicking on suggested selections below the book I was thinking about. Decided to go for it and now anxiously awaiting book 3. Lovely believable characters, good mystery, great location. I was unaware of the Faeroe Islands, learning a little about them is an added bonus.

Did not want to put it down!!

I love a book that follows along one track in present time! I had read and thoroughly enjoyed "The Blood Strand" which is the first in this trilogy and this second book "The Killing Bay" has now left me avidly looking forward to the release of the third. Of particular interest is the fact that the setting for the novels is in the Faroe Islands providing cultural interest as well as a great story line. Chris Ould has definitely become my most favourite author and Matt Addis did a superb job on the narration. I wholeheartedly recommend this author's books to everyone.

Great Follow Up to Book 1

This book has a great story line and exemplifies the world wide difficulty police agencies face when local jurisdictions are negated by a National entity. The real story line however is a complicated murder with some great twists. The underlying theme from Book 1 continues but you don’t have to read in the correct order to enjoy this book. I have already downloaded Book 3. Performance was superb!!
