Publisher's summary

Owen is the organizer of the Montgomery clan, running the family’s construction business with an iron fist - and an even less flexible spreadsheet. And though his brothers give him grief for his compulsive list making, the Inn BoonsBoro is about to open right on schedule. The only thing Owen didn’t plan for was Avery MacTavish....

Avery’s popular pizza place is right across the street from the inn, giving her a firsthand look at its amazing renovation - and a newfound appreciation for Owen. Since he was her first boyfriend when they were kids, Owen has never been far from Avery’s thoughts. But the attraction she’s feeling for him now is far from innocent.

As Avery and Owen cautiously take their relationship to another level, the opening of the inn gives the whole town of BoonsBoro a reason to celebrate. But Owen’s hard work has only begun. Getting Avery to let down her guard is going to take longer than he expected - and so will getting her to realize that her first boyfriend is going to be her last….

Critic reviews

“No one writes relationships as well as Ms. Roberts, with the subtleties and quirkiness of the give-and-take of friendship and romance.” ( Fresh Fiction)

Heart felt romance

The characters and town evoke a very home like feeling. Getting to know all the characters is like being in the home town of Boonsboro. I have visited there and am amazed that the places are there just like in the book. Well done Nora! Thanks for your book signing sessions.

Lovely it!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Last Boyfriend to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version but truly enjoyed the audio.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Avery was my favorite character as she was so real.

Which scene was your favorite?

Too many to name one.

Any additional comments?

A very pleasant listen during my long commute to work and back!

Don't waste your money

Although the unabridged version of this story had too much emphasis on remodeling and building of the Inn (boring) this shorter version just didn't work. The story was disjointed and didn't make sense. Stick to the the unabridged version and just fast-forward through the boring parts.

dont bother

What would have made The Last Boyfriend better?

a bit of depth or a better narrator, sorry.

Would you ever listen to anything by Nora Roberts again?

yes, I truly love NR and am just disappointed by this series because combining the 3 would have made better sense story wise and dollar wise.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of MacLeod Andrews?

dont really follow narrators much

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

na

Where's the story?

This is more of a casual meandering through a family's idyllic lives. At one point I knew I had an audio book that was incomplete, but for the life of me I couldn't remember what it was. As hard as I tried, I could recall nothing. Once I began listening again, it came back to me, but that's not much of a recommendation, is it? The complete lack of tension in the rather non-existent story line renders it more of a meditative diversion than a dynamic story with a plot. The narrator did a commendable job and his delivery fit comfortably within the story. If I had it to do over again, I would not purchase this book but neither would I cry if I was forced to listen to it again. I believe that would be called, "damned by faint praise." Sorry, that's the best I can offer!

Missing parts of the book!

I’ve read the books before thought it be nice to be able to listen to them while working and driving but for some reason large
Parts of the book are missing like chucks
Of character building and side info the whole
Series seems to be missing parts like the audible person felt like those parts
Weren’t worth reading very frustrating!
