Publisher's summary

Summer nights and star-crossed lovers! From USA Today best-selling author Sarina Bowen.

Once upon a time, he gave me a summer of friendship, followed by one perfect night. We shared a lot during our short time together. But he skipped a few crucial details.

I didn’t know he was a rock star.

I didn’t know his real name.

Neither of us knew I’d get pregnant.

And I sure never expected to see him again.

Five years later, his tour bus pulls up in Nest Lake, Maine. My little world is about to be shattered by loud music and the pounding of my own foolish heart.

Really good story

I really liked this book but there were a couple of things that annoyed me. I did not like Quinn at all and as of right now I have no desire to read her book. I loved Jonas but it was odd how he would call Vivi "her daughter" or "your daughter" throughout the entire book and I just never really felt a connection between him and Vivi. Also, Kira forgave him way too easily in the beginning. Heck, he never really even apologized at the beginning and she didn't seem upset with him. Of course what she did was bad too but he broke her heart but you wouldn't have known it the way she acted when they first saw each other after 5 yrs. Also, I am sick to death of the guy sleeping with every woman available and the woman stays celibate. WHY??? That irritates me to no end. Either they should both be saints or both sleep around. Too many authors do that. Dual povs and an HEA. I would recommend reading this book.

Slow down dude

The male narrator needs to slow tf down. I don’t love his delivery but my main beef is that he obviously reads shit that makes him uncomfortable as fast as possible.

Blown Away!

Sweet. touching, and oh, so, serene.
The Serenade and guitar playing by Tim Paige was a perfect touch to this book, and as always Erin Mallon's expertise in bringing the story to life never disappoints. Sarina Bowen has a way of captivating her readers and making them feel part of the story rather than as an on-looker. She knocked it out of the closet with this one!
I'm off to snag the others in the series and will be busy listening!
On to the next!

Loved, loved, loved this Sarina Bowen book!

I loved, loved, loved Lies & Lullabies by Sarina Bowen!

Kira and Jonas spent one great summer together, with no goals other than a friendship and support, during a time when Kira really needed a had to hold and some comfort. But Jonas was keeping a secret, and didn't let Kira know that he was a famous rockstar. They spent one romantic night together, and at the end of their summer, Jonas went back to his life, and Kira went back to hers. But they booth left an indelible mark on each other, and their hearts would never forget.

Years later, Jonas returns to Kira's small town, in part to find her and see if he can have a second chance at love, and he discovers that he left more behind than he thought he did - and he has a daughter, Vivi.

Vivi, and Adam, Kira's brother, have been Kira's life for the last several years. There is a lot of wariness when Jonas re-enters their life, but Jonas knows what he wants, and he wants to be there for Kira and Vivi, willing to make whatever compromises and life changes he has to make.

I love that Sarina Bowen always writes engaging characters, with a lot of layers that get peeled back continuously throughout the book. Not only are Jonas and Kira nuanced, well-developed characters with strength, determination and resilience, bu Vivi, Adam and Jonas's bandmates and manager are also given personality and depth that enhances Jonas and Kira's story.

The audio is incredibly narrated by Erin Mallon and Tim Paige, and we even get to hear Tim Paige sing an original song co-written with Sarina Bowen. Their portrayals of Kira and Jonas were spot-on, with emotion and subtlety when called for.

5 Swooning Stars!

5 Swooning Stars! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read

Jonas & Kira’s story started 5 years before. He crept into her small town to lay low and write music. He also forged a beautiful friendship with our girl Kira. They had such a strong and beautiful bond. In on his last night in her town they had a beautiful coming together. Neither of them knew that they created a baby till later.

When Jonas pops back into her town, he is thrown for a loop. Jonas never forgot Kira and he never wants to let go. Jonas perfectly portrays the insta dad! Kira struggles with trust, but so does he.

The biggest winner in this story for me was Adam. Kira’s brother is just plain amazing and I need more of him.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Swooning Stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Audio Review- Erin Mallon and Tim Paige were just perfect. Perfect tone throughout the story. Tim Paige really made me swoon!

Lies and Lullabies

Hail to the rock stars!

I love a good Rock Star romance, I liked the way they met and how things unfolded.
I loved that she was a single mom and yet her daughter knew of her father if she didn’t know who he was but it was organic.

I loved that Kira had a bother she could rely on. But also their relationship was so solid and it was awe inspiring.

Jonah is about to have his life turned upside down and the proof in what a good man he is; is all in how he handled getting the news.

I just enjoyed the book and the narration was perfect Tim Paige and the signing parts were awesome and Erin is a dear favourite of mine.

A second chance love story with a tragic past.

This is a sweeter second chance love story with a sprinkling of heat. I’m a sucker for rockstars and Jonas is a big one. Although Kira had no idea when she met him 5 years ago. She also didn’t figure she’d get pregnant after one night together following a summer full of memories of their growing friendship.

Kira was struggling to overcome a trauma in her past when she first met Jonas and they had a lot of fun just hanging out. He was on a break from touring but didn’t tell her who he really was. He was loving his anonymity but when they parted she had no way to get in touch with him.

Fast forward 5 years and he’s back in town for some much needed respite from touring again. He sees her and then finds out he has a daughter. Wowzers that’s a lot!

I loved how we got all the backstory through remembering and the jumping between times didn’t bother me at all (which it usually does). I think that I just wanted to know everything about these two as I was drawn into this story from the beginning. I’m a sucker for second chances and am always cheering the MCs on to get to their happy. This was a tough journey for both Kira and Jonas and we feel their heartache, we go through reliving their trauma and turmoil but we also get to experience the joy that they find in each other. Sarina always develops complex but loveable characters and these two were no exception.

Erin did a great job of showing us how Kira went from carefree to guarded. She manages multiple voices well and her performance drew me in just like the story. Tim gives us the tortured Jonas. Helping us to delve into his head and his heart.

Sarina is such a versatile author, writing everything from contemporary to sports, MM to romcom. She writes so many different stories and she does them all well in my opinion. So if you’re looking for a well written story that will pull you in, characters you will fall in love with and all the feels of the second chance HEA this is your book.

Fantastic

Love Sarinas work and this lived up to my expectations. Erin Mallon and Tim Paige did an excellent job. The song was an added bonus. Great job.
