Story
In 1836, when she was nine years old, Cynthia Ann Parker was kidnapped by Comanche Indians. This is the story of how she grew up with them, mastered their ways, married one of their leaders, and became, in every way, a Comanche woman. It is also the story of a proud and innocent people whose lives pulsed with the very heartbeat of the land. It is the story of a way of life that is gone forever.

Story
The Sojourn is the story of Jozef Vinich, who was uprooted from a 19th-century mining town in Colorado by a family tragedy and returns with his father to an impoverished shepherd’s life in rural Austria-Hungary. When World War One comes, Jozef joins his adopted brother as a sharpshooter in the Kaiser’s army, surviving a perilous trek across the frozen Italian Alps and capture by a victorious enemy. A stirring tale of brotherhood, coming-of-age, and survival, this novel evokes a time when Czechs, Slovaks, Austrians, and Germans fought on the same side while divided by language, ethnicity, and social class.

Story
It's 1867 in the Wyoming Territory. Chance Creager and his brothers have built their small, isolated ranch in the uninhabited valley near the Greybull River. While hunting, Chance stumbles upon a decaying wagon sunk in mud, near it the grisly remains of an Indian sacrifice. Nothing about the eerie scene makes sense. The mountains have secrets. Chance finds himself pulled deeper into the mystery when he finds a beautiful fugitive named Raven while hunting a deadly mountain lion.

The Last Raid
Another great story by Edd Voss, the modern-day Louis Lamour. Set in Arizona Territory during the early days of westward expansion after the horrors of a bloody civil war, Edd, takes us on a journey of historical fiction, beginning with a sudden raid on an isolated mining town, through the barren desert into a surprising conclusion, with insight and understanding of the clash of two cultures. I've lived near the areas that Edd describes so well, his narrative helped sharpen my memories of the beauties, and danger, of the land where the Apache once roamed freely. The Last Raid is narrated by Christopher Campos.
Edd Voss, a consummate story teller, hit the ball out of the park on this one but readers shouldn't hesitate purchasing his other novels, all unique and compelling stories in their own right.

Short Well Written Masterpiece
I received this audiobook free at my request and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Fantastically written short Western tale, with just outstanding characters and a great plot. The narration by Christopher G. Campos is perfect, and my only complaint is that it wasn't longer, as I was lost in the story, and enjoyed the atmosphere that the book provided.

The end of an era
The Last Raid
: Edd Voss
This is a short, dramatized, western historical fiction set in the Arizona desert. It is an excellently told story. A western that has the feel of the time. I will continue to look for more from this author.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Christopher G. Campos brought this tale to life!!!

well written, reminiscent of Louie L'Amour
author Edd Voss captures the heat, dust, and emotions and passion in this short story of the end of the Indian wars in the early west.
it is dramatized, and although I'm not usually a fan on dramatized narration, this was very well done and enjoyable
