About this listen

Major James Brionne brought Dave Allard to trial for murder. Just before the hanging, Dave swore his brothers would take vengeance....

Four years later, the Allard boys returned to settle the score. Only Brionne's son escaped. They murdered his wife, destroyed his home, and left Brionne nothing but the charred ruins of his past to haunt him. Seeking peace and a new life, Brionne and the boy headed west. But the Allards hadn't finished with him. He knew they'd call him for a showdown - and this time he'd be ready....

Not one of the L'amour's formulaic hits but good

Many of Louie Lamour's classic westerns are somewhat formulaic. Funny though, I still like them all. This one is different and shows a father's love for his son and a desire to teach him the right way. This book is also about 60% of the length of his normal epics.

great story and the voices really packed a punch.

I really enjoyed the book and it's presentation. The voices made me feel and I wanted to join in the gunfight at the end when James Brionne shot and destroyed the men the burned his house down. Now for the next book.

Intense fast passed. Highly recommend. I’ve listed to tons of these and this is one of the best.

Loved it good characters and an interesting story line. I loved his wife before she died in the very beginning she was tough.

A departure from the schematic. liked it

It's interesting and doesn't get stretch too long. Well done. Narration was very good.....sorry Jason. Still wish there would be chapter after boy gets girl, happy ever after stuff. Maybe Boa could put one together as a republished dramatization. I like the multi actor audio. I volunteer for some🤘 I got game.
