Publisher's summary

Charles Humphrey, the Earl of Lonsdale, is infamous for his seductions. With laughing, gray eyes and a halo of blond hair, he's every woman's wicked dream. Beneath that devil-may-care grin he has a painful past that has made him sure love was not for him, even as the rest of his friends, the members of the League of Rogues, settle down in wedded bliss. When he accidentally rescues a mysterious beauty with eyes as haunted as his own and shares one life-changing kiss with her, she vanishes in the night. Charles vows to find this angel who might yet save his soul, but he knows anyone he cares about is in grave danger when an old enemy resurfaces a final time for revenge....

Lily has secrets, too many secrets. When she's abducted and taken into the London underworld by a gang of nefarious brutes, she's rescued by Charles, the one man who can never know her past. She can't let him discover her feelings or her secrets, but she can't resist sharing one kiss with him before escaping his passionate embrace. That taste of the last bachelor of the League of Rogues leaves her desiring a future she cannot have - especially when her master demands she prove her loyalty in a most deadly way....

Finally, I can sleep

This series has totally messed up my sleeping, or lack thereof. The entire series has kept me awake, too enthralled to sleep. I am so happy Charles finally found his hea. I will say I have a few issues with her, and my feelings are kind of torn...which was the point of his story. It only adds to his. I like that all the rogues were heavily involved unlike other series where previous characters were merely mentioned. I won't give any spoilers. Everyone knows it was Charles' time. He's needed a hug from the first time he was introduced.
This last story was a bit stressful, again written purposely for that reaction. Well written. Love the narrator, and so happy she narrated all of them. There have been a couple of series I couldn't finish bcs they changed the narrator to a horrible one, and couldn't tell who was who by the voices.
I look forward to the next in the series, with Joanna. Hopefully, less stress this time.

The End of the Rogues?

The League of Rogues is a friendship of 5 aristocrats who became solid friends one fateful night while they attended university. That night they also met and made a vengeful enemy. Each book in the series alludes to the story, so we get bits and pieces as we move through each tale. Yet, Mr. Waverly is the major antagonist along each storyline. Although this series is considered Regency romance - which it is - there is danger and intrigue through out.

As the title suggests, The Last Wicked Rogue is the story of the only Rogue from the League who is not married . So … of course the entire group, especially the wives, decide he needs to find a mate. Remember, “it is universally known that a man with a title and a fortune, is in need of a wife” or some such nonsense.

Ms. Smith had been building the world, the characters and the intrigue for 9 books. She has done a great job of pulling all the story arcs together and providing satisfactory conclusions for the arcs.

I have enjoyed listening to this series and recommend anyone who enjoys intrigue and Regency romance to read / listen to these stories.

Heather Wilds narrated all the main stories and did a great job. The smaller tales had different narrators that were not as compelling. Too bad. Still recommend the series.

Awesome Conclusion to the Rogues

This final rogue book was the best. Intrigue, deception, suspense, love and finally a happy ending. Loved the way Hugo Waverly's story was concluded. I started listening to Lauren Smith's audio books only a week ago and have been hooked into listening into the wee hours just to see what happens to the Rogues. I highly recommend this author and narrator.

Great storytelling

Loved these stories. Listened to all of them for a second time and some for the first time and relished each one. Well written with intrigue, suspense, and love. Loved the way you carried the friendships throughout the series. Job well done Lauren 👍🏻. Narration was well done with great characterizations, accents, and intonations. Smooth transitions from character to character. Great job to Heather, Nathaniel, Carolyn, Tracy, and Catriona, but especially Heather and Nathaniel 👍🏻👍🏻.

Closure

I love that Heather Wilds narrates the whole series. It helps with remembering characters and the other stories.

The storyline had enough of everything. All types of closure is needed. I would say I am satisfied with the ending without spoilers.

My favorite in this series

This was the best one in the whole series. I enjoy the subtle humor that in scattered throughout this book and the series. I got Chicago musical vibes at the end lol

The best one

Finally, a book where they actually say how they feel and the women don’t play stupid games. I also like that Charles listened to Lily and wasn’t irrationally angry like the other men

What an ending!

I have wondered what was in store for Charles from the start and had my suspicions about Tom, which were confirmed in this book. Such a good wrap up for an amazing series.

Worst Ever Narrator

Heather Wilds monotonous, sing song narration sucked all romance and sensuality from the story. What a shame.
