Loved it

This was a fun story- It was a local version of survivor with all the drama it entails. It was fun, quirky and sweet with a little romance thrown in. Not a steamy read but a fun rainy day read! I enjoyed it.

Narration was great- no complaints!

Absolutely Adorable!

Megan is the exact opposite of her beautiful outgoing sister Molly, so when Molly asks Megan to compete in the Nebraska version of Survivor, Megan is sure she'll fail. Overwhelmingly shy around strangers, Megan is happiest working alone at home for her voice over and recording business. Building a shelter, competing in challenges, and playing the social game are completely out of her comfort zone.

When Megan arrives, she meets the show's medic, Cane. She instantly forms a crush on him, which deepens as they get to know each other over the duration of the show. But Cane is nursing a broken heart, and Megan has no experience with relationships. Can these two underdogs survive the show and find love?

This book hit all the right notes for me! I'm a Survivor fan who works from home, is anxious around people, blind without glasses, and have a gorgeous outgoing sister, and I found Megan so relatable. She's incredibly likable. She's a real person with real limitations, and she's hard on herself because of them. I loved watching her grow in confidence and her transformation felt real. Her romance with Cane was so sweet. I prefer books with multiple points of view and getting to read Cane's thoughts on Megan's performance was great. There were so many laugh out loud moments in this book, and I spent most of it with a smile on my face.

The actual reality show side of the book was perfect. The author pegged the game of Survivor perfectly, the cliques, the challenges, the starvation, the scrambling, and the villain. Ohhhh... the villain. She created a nasty one here. I loved the descriptions of the challenges, and got butterflies in my stomach along with Megan as she had to compete in each one. The whole read was a blast!

I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

A different type of romance

When I started listening to this story, the author was unknown to me so I was pretty excited to listen to something new. I enjoyed the background of the story since I enjoy watching Naked and Afraid and Survivor. Megan and Cane's love story is an interesting one that happens unexpectedly and you will find yourself following along their journey. I enjoyed the characters within the story and found myself laughing at different points and rooting for the underdog. It felt like I knew the characters and was involved in the different activities that took place. However, I believe the author chose the wrong narrator to do the story. She did a poor job.

When love was not expected

This book is everything.

Its based on an average girl that is shy and awkward that goes on a Survivor type show when her sister can not.

The show is everything that Megan is not, Social, Athletic, Adventurous and devious.

But Megan goes in with an open mind and not only finds herself and her confidence but manages to find love as well.

The plot twists are perfectly timed the store paced just right.

I love this book because it is something I can relate to and a character I can see myself as.

Cute Story, narration lacked

This was a new author to me and I found her writing style refreshing and I enjoyed it. The story would appeal to those that like reality tv shows like Survivor, Naked and Afraid, Big Brother, etc. The two main love interests Megan and Cane's

This is a slow burn type of love story and doesn't have a lot of steam to it. There are a lot of other story lines going - most of it focusing around Megan and the reality show she is on. There is some focusing on Cane's previous love life as well and the other characters on the show too.

I did not like the narrator on the story at all and many times found her voice quite grating and too whiny. She actually really put me off and I found myself tuning out and I found that I had to rewind to tell what happened. These were always at parts when the narrator was playing a female role and using one of the higher pitched tones. I do not know if I would listen to another book by her.

Quirky funny read....

Quirky, Funny, Reality Show..... This was my 1st book by B Williams and my 1st narration by A. Richwine.... This was a good match up. AR did a good job on voices and character distinction. "I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."

The Leftover, should not be left over

This is the first book I have read form Miss Williams. I highly enjoyed it. I found it to be well-written suspenseful and funny in some parts. I love the characters and I found them to be very well-written. I've never been one to watch reality TV decide wasn't quite sure if I would like this or not I've never seen an episode of survivor. Though from my understanding this is not exactly like survivor but I liked this book and enough that I may just check out the series well done.

I also thought that April did a fantastic job near reading this to me.
