About this listen

A clever and steamy queer romantic comedy about taking chances and accepting love—with all its complications—from the author of Astrid Parker Doesn't Fail.

Delilah Green swore she would never go back to Bright Falls—nothing is there for her but memories of a lonely childhood where she was little more than a burden to her cold and distant stepfamily. Her life is in New York, with her photography career finally gaining steam and her bed never empty. Sure, it’s a different woman every night, but that’s just fine with her.

When Delilah’s estranged stepsister, Astrid, pressures her into photographing her wedding with a guilt trip and a five-figure check, Delilah finds herself back in the godforsaken town that she used to call home. She plans to breeze in and out, but then she sees Claire Sutherland, one of Astrid’s stuck-up besties, and decides that maybe there’s some fun (and a little retribution) to be had in Bright Falls, after all.

Having raised her eleven-year-old daughter mostly on her own while dealing with her unreliable ex and running a bookstore, Claire Sutherland depends upon a life without surprises. And Delilah Green is an unwelcome surprise…at first. Though they’ve known each other for years, they don’t really know each other—so Claire is unsettled when Delilah figures out exactly what buttons to push. When they’re forced together during a gauntlet of wedding preparations—including a plot to save Astrid from her horrible fiancé—Claire isn’t sure she has the strength to resist Delilah’s charms. Even worse, she’s starting to think she doesn’t want to...

"Blake captures all the complications of family, friendship, and romance with humor and heart."—Kirkus

"There's family drama, trauma, childhood memories, love, romance, diverse relationships between not just the main couple, but everyone in the book, that'll have you on the edge of your seat. The novel also does a great job of inputting a queer love story in the middle of an enticing read."—USA Today

"Delilah Green Doesn’t Care is a hot, frothy romcom with a relatable heart beating at its centre. I loved every hilarious character, every outrageous shenanigan - and most of all, I loved Delilah Green. I can’t wait for the rest of the series!"Talia Hibbert, New York Times bestselling author of Act Your Age, Eve Brown

Book was good, auto bad

I didn’t mind reading this book. The end was rushed but still a feel good book to read. After enjoying the book I bought the auto book thinking it would be great but the narration and feelings in certain characters aren’t how a queer would have a responded in that tone. And they made Claire sound like she’s a shy Nashville walkover girl when she’s much more bold on the outside. Auto book ruined it but the book itself was fine.

Lovely story with beautiful character development but could use an editor!

Story is beautifully written and the characters are developed well. The steam was OK. I just think it could’ve used an editor to filter through the book and get rid of the repetitive phrases. Far too many “the other woman” and “[blank] said” for me.

Great Adult Romantic Comedy

The book paces itself very well and though a little predictable at times it is a sexy, funny, heart melting tale. Each character comes alive thanks to the reader (Kristin), who truly embodies the emotions of the characters. I inhaled this book as fast as I could and I’d highly recommend it to adult LGBTQIA readers

Sisters are not just blood.

This was simply fun and lovely.
We all need friends like these women. Especially Iris.

Cheers to sisterhood and all the messiness it gifts as well.

Cute!

This was such a fun book! It was a little predictable but I’m the best way possible. The whole time I was just screaming for them to kiss. And when they did, amazing!!!

I'm obsessed.

Delilah is so appealing as a character, they come off the page so easily, I've never been able to picture a character so vividly. And this book deserves a 5/5 for the first kiss scene alone.

Simping aside, I like that the story has a good balance where it could have gone over dramatic, but holds back just enough to be realistic at times. It's an easily lovable story.

GREAT!

This book was 1 of my favorites. I loved it. I could feel the emotions as though I was in the book myself. It made me want to read about Astrids' character & make a pre-oder for Iris.
