About this listen

For millennia, the Librarians have secretly protected the world by keeping watch over dangerous magical relics. Cataloging and safeguarding everything from Excalibur to Pandora's Box, they stand between humanity and those who would use the relics for evil.

Ten years ago only Flynn Carsen, the last of the Librarians, stood against an ancient criminal organization known as The Forty. They stole the oldest known copy of The Arabian Nights by Scheherazade, and Flynn fears they intend to steal Aladdin's fabled lamp. He races to find it first, before they can unleash the trapped malevolent djinn upon the world.

Today Flynn is no longer alone. A new team of inexperienced Librarians, led by Eve Baird, their tough-as-nails Guardian, investigates an uncanny mystery in Las Vegas. A mystery tied closely to Flynn's original quest to find the lost lamp, and the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

Loved It!

What fun and adventure! I now have a quench to watch the TNT Series which I learned about from a reviewer recommending this audio book. Thank goodness it’s on Hula which I own a subscription. Now I can afford the other two The Librarian books!

A Delightful Ride!

Oh my goodness, this was so much fun! I purchased it because it was on sale & I thought it might be an entertaining way to get me through to my next credit. But it turned out to be so much better than I expected. Adventure, travel, ancient mythology, and a treasure hunt with a cast of entertaining characters kept me hooked from the first word to the last. I will for sure be listening to all 3 books in the series.

Slow to get started

Took a while for me to get into it. It seemed sort of kids adventure story at first. But once she got passed the exposition phase, where she was regaling me with how amazing her world was… I really enjoyed it. Liked the narrator a lot, except I beg you not to do an Aussie accent again.,. It was kind of Aussie meets Brit meets New Englander. 🤣

A fun adventure, true to the source

If you loved The Librarians (like me), you might be worried that this won’t hold up. Well, it absolutely does. The writing is spot on. It’s great because it’s like you get another The Librarian movie and a The Librarians movie in one, as the blood is split between 2006 and 2016.

Thérèse is an amazing narrator. She captured the characters’ essences very well. Her Stone accent is a little heavy, but it still works. Her storytelling style is damn good. My only complaint is her mispronunciation of Cillian. It’s a hard C. Every time she says it, I cringe a little.

I highly recommend this for fans of the movies and show, but it’s also great if you’ve never seen either, as everything is introduced in a way that is very slick and feels natural. I loved this book.

Just like the TV show .. I love it.

Any additional comments?

We love the TV show. Some call it bad, I call those people other names. With a smile. If you watch and like The Librarians TV show, you will like this book. If you have never watched the show, you will be lost trying to listen to this audio book. I hope there will be more editions show up here on Audible.

Great Story, Great Narration

Greg Cox did a great job of staying true to the characters we've all grown to love on screen, and Therese Plummer provided great narration. If you're a fan a of the show I would definitely recommend that you give this book a try.

I liked it, but it felt like a double episode of the TV show. I had expected more
