About this listen
With the lies of the past behind her, Addie finds love...and discovers her true Father.
Addie Sullivan leads a quiet life in a northern California lighthouse. She mourns the death of her father and endures her mother's bitterness, until the night a storm brings an injured stranger and a dark secret to her home. The man insists she is not who she thinks she is, but rather "Julia Eaton" - the child long lost and feared dead by her wealthy family. Seizing the chance to be reunited with the Eatons, Addie leaves her lighthouse home but decides to keep her true identity a secret until they can unravel the mystery.
Addie loves the Eatons' palatial home tucked away among the California redwood forests. She feels secure with the jovial family, adores the young boy who is her charge as governess, and finds romance with his father John, a young widower. But sinister shadows overtake Addie's joy. As dusty rooms and secret compartments give up their clues about her past, Addie finds a faith and a love she could never have guessed. To embrace this new world of promise is to risk her life; but to run away is to risk losing the greatest love she's ever known.

Story
Early in the Great War, men left Britain’s factories in droves to enlist. Struggling to keep up production, arsenals hired women to build the weapons the military urgently needed. “Be the Girl Behind the Man Behind the Gun,” the recruitment posters beckoned. Thousands of women—cooks, maids, shopgirls, and housewives—answered their nation’s call. These “munitionettes” worked grueling shifts often seven days a week, handling TNT and other explosives with little protective gear.

Would have been great with a different narrator
I couldn’t make it past chapter 4. Narration can ruin a story for me which it did in this case. The voices she used for the characters sounded so unnatural and irritating. Especially the voice of Addie, the protagonist. She sounded like a bewildered child instead of an educated young woman. The story itself was good enough that I will consider buying a print version of the book.

I love mysteries. Trying to figure out who did it and why. This story had me guessing all the way to the end. I’m so glad she found her mother, because her father was no good. And Lord Carrington, the character you to gate until the truth was revealed. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Thank you

Great book!
The story and scripture reminded me that God is in control when I needed it most. Great book!

Loved this story, but....
I loved the story, loved the characters, loved the narration, especially loved the surprises, but...I do wish the category description included Christian. I don't judge one way or the other any person's religious beliefs, and I'm not against occasional references to faith in stories I read or listen to. However, when there is a strong leaning toward religion in a story, with multiple quotes and references in every chapter, it really should fall into the category of Christian in order to target the appropriate audience.

THE LIGHTKEEPER'S DAUGHTER
This was a very ,very good mystery romance novel! It's about murder, a 30 yr old murder & secrets that go back even longer!!! It's a clean wholesome book!! You won't regret this book series!!!

Worth the Time and Money
Colleen did a great job writing this book. It kept my interest, and I consider it worth buying. I will probably buy the other two books in this series because of it.
