About this listen

A USA Today best seller!

“Old architecture, a missing woman, a sudden inheritance, and a great mystery with unexpected twists make this a hard-to-put-down book....” (Karen White, New York Times best-selling author)

Welcome to Hope Beach. A place of intoxicating beauty...where trouble hits with the force of a hurricane.

Inheriting a beautiful old hotel on the Outer Banks could be a dream come true for Libby. The inn cries out for her restorer’s talent and love of history. She’s delighted to learn of the family she never knew she had. And the handsome Coast Guard lieutenant she’s met there on the island could definitely be the man of her dreams.

But Libby soon realizes that the only way she can afford the upkeep on the inn is to sell it to developers who are stalking the island. The father who willed her the inn has died before she could meet him, and her newfound brother and sister are convinced she’s there to steal their birthright. Worst of all, her best friend and business partner has been kidnapped before her eyes, and Libby’s under suspicion for the crime.

Libby’s dream come true is becoming a nightmare. Her only option is to find her friend and prove her innocence, or lose everything on the shores of Hope Island.

“Colleen is a master storyteller!” (Karen Kingsbury, number-one New York Times best-selling author)

Great!

Feel good mystery with a bit of romance. Well spoken with good distinction between characters.

Great twist

The twist was great at the end. Keeps you guessing. The performance was ok. Came off a little whiny but got better as it went along

Narrator ruins the story

Good story, but the narrator make the lead female into a whiny mess. Her voices for the other characters is fine, but I wanted to faceplam every time the lead character’s voice came on. Also, there were time when the narrator rushed through sentences to a new scene, which made things a little confusing. There is a strong Christian theme, so if you don’t like that, this is not the book for you

Wonderful!!

Where does Tidewater Inn rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a great book. I can always count on Colleen Coble for a great story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Tidewater Inn?

I loved it when the sisters finally came together and started to have a relationship.

What does Devon O'Day bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

One of the best narrators I've ever listened to. Her voice was soothing, she reminded me of listening to my Grandmother reading to me.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I would fall asleep from pure exhaustion trying to stay awake to listen to the whole thing.

Disappointed

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

No, not the audio book, I didn't like the performance, failed to receive the "gotcha" that creates empathy for the two main ladies. Felt it was too whiney and wimpy even.

narrator

The narrator did a plausible job on all voices except that of the lead female character. This woman of courage and character had a self pitying whine for a voice.

A Walk with the Author

It was a great page-turner. Great for vacations when time is short. The Author took the reader along with her and this kind of writing is difficult.

Loved the story. Terrible narration.

Would you try another book from Colleen Coble and/or Devon O'Day?

yes.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator dropped his voice towarad the end of a sentence and ran it all together making it hard to understand.

Could you see Tidewater Inn being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Read the story. Don't buy the audilble.
