Publisher's summary

The thrilling sequel to The Immune!

The end of the world was only the beginning.

Thirteen years have passed since the Medusa plague wiped out nearly 99 percent of the world’s population and pushed humanity to the brink of extinction.

Climate change triggered by nuclear skirmishes in the last fevered days of civilization decimated agriculture and livestock, and the hardened survivors battle for what few resources remain.

Will Callahan is one of the lucky ones. In his small community in Nebraska, he and his family have access to food, clean water, weapons, and medical care.

More importantly, he is the only child known to have survived infancy since the plague. But everything changes when someone comes looking for him.

I loved it

I'm not sure why the other reviews didn't care for the narrator. I think she was awesome. her males voices were a little weird but she rarely used it. I really liked her voice for Will.
I really enjoyed both books to the fullest. I hope the writer puts a 3rd out from Will's life . I'd like to see what future this ending yields.

Enjoyed

I was looking forward to this book 2 and have a feeling there will be a book 3. Interesting story, but hard to get used to the lady reading it. Like the first book, it takes about half way thur it before you get accustomed to her voice. Once you get past that a good book. The female character in it is pretty stupid though. No way she's lasted as long as she has. Hopefully if there's another book to follow, the author tries to wise her up. Overall a pretty good book. Wouldn't pay full price for it though, bought it during their big sale in november along with about 15 others. Should keep me busy for the next several months

Slow and unrealistic main character

In the world the author created, this woman would not have survived. It was a relief to stop listening and move on to the next book.

Much better than the first book

Much better than the first book. Story more developed. Could there be a third? At first I didn’t care for the narrator’s voice but she grew on me.

Good story line

Great addition to the Immune but making the 11yr old boy sound like he was 5 was annoying.

hard to get thru

I have to say this is the worst book i have ever listened to. I had to stop about 10 times because the woman in this book was just so stupid. i only got this book because i listened to the first one (and that wasn't that great). i just can't believe this girl daydreamed so much. all the bad choices she made . just so hard to get thru. if you get this book ....good luck getting thru it.

Skip it

The first one was okay, the second is torcher, whine whine whine, repeat repeat repeat, dusted with a spatter of action.
