About this listen

With an exclusive new bonus chapter...from Adam's POV

Based on the available information and the data hitherto collected, my hypothesis is that the further I stay away from love, the better off I will be.

When a fake relationship between scientists meets the irresistible force of attraction, it throws one woman's carefully calculated theories on love into chaos.

As a third-year Ph.D. candidate, Olive Smith doesn't believe in lasting romantic relationships but her best friend does, and that's what got her into this situation. Convincing Anh that Olive on her way to a happily ever after was always going to be tough, scientists require proof. So, like any self-respecting woman, Olive panics and kisses the first man she sees.

That man is none other than Adam Carlsen, a young hotshot professor and well-known ass. Which is why Olive is positively floored when he agrees to keep her charade a secret and be her fake boyfriend. But when a big science conference goes haywire and Adam surprises her again with his unyielding support (and his unyielding abs), their little experiment feels dangerously close to combustion.

Olive soon discovers that the only thing more complicated than a hypothesis on love is putting her own heart under the microscope.

Slow slow burn, but so worth the wait…

I caught myself smiling so many times in traffic while listening to this audiobook. What a pleasant surprise. A delightful romcom, with all the tropes you want, but with lots of personality. A heroine you can empathize and learn to like, as she is smart, funny, lovable and human. Adam is as realistic as a book hero can be and you learn to love him as Olive learns too.
Super recommend! Light, funny, a little sexy and a good time.

typical tropes but still so good

This book has a lot of predictable tropes but I love the fresh take of the love story in an academic setting and themes of power and consent.

Unexpected but pleasant twist

I enjoyed how light and easy the book was to listen to, as well as the humour. I was not expecting the ending at all, but my oh my was it good.

Great From Start To Finish

This book was so intriguing, entertaining, amazing, and I already want to reread it. The narration was so great and Callie did an amazing job of showcasing the different characters. I cannot wait for the next book in the series if this book was anything to go by and it was definitely a good recommendation.

Ali Hazelwood is the queen of Steminism

Loved the book, just like I loved the other two in the series. It had enough scientific terminology, and just the right amount of romance to my liking. The narration was great and did complete justice to the writing.

It was a good read!

I liked this book for many reasons. The scientific setting on campus. The way the book starts with the prologue her being silly in a bathroom. Vulnerable. Then goes into a random kiss in the first chapter. It wasn’t love at first sight or swooning over a man from a far. The storyline fit perfectly with who the characters were. Of course loved the spice. It was a great way to show that sex is debt with differently by different people and sexual attraction if felt differently by each person. Over all I was happy with reading it and finishing the book.
