Publisher's summary

From the USA Today bestselling author of The Summer House, with over one million copies of her books sold, comes a heartwarming beach book, perfect for fans of Sheila Roberts, Jill Shalvis, and Debbie Macomber.

After the loss of her fiancé a year ago, event planner Lauren Sutton can’t seem to go on with her choice of career or the life she’d built with her fiancé any longer. Floundering emotionally, she makes a snap decision to sell her half of the business and spend the summer among the sand dunes and changing tides of the Outer Banks, taking care of an old inn in Rodanthe, North Carolina, with its elderly owner Mary Everett.

Perhaps the salty breezes of the Atlantic and the warmth of summer sun on her face will help her find her direction. What she doesn’t expect to find is a story hidden away in a string of sea glass that will change her life forever. And complicating things is local fisherman Brody Harrison. All she’d wanted was to sink her toes in the sand and let the coastal breeze calm her aching heart. But Brody shakes up her plan in ways she’d never imagined.

An uplifting summer escape that will strengthen your family bonds and have you believing in the incredible power of love. If you enjoyed the TV movies based on Jenny’s books and are looking for more feel-good small-town romance, look no further!

Interesting

I liked the story, the setting, the people. I did have trouble at first, figuring out the different times that the author skipped back-and-forth on. This happens with audible books too much, at least I think it does, I wish there was someway they would make it more plain what they’re doing. It has a lot to do with the story in this case.

Narrator is OK, otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to make it through, I always think the narrator makes the story! I wish she would have just stuck to mostly reading, though and not try to do the voices.

Lovely story

At first I couldn’t figure out the connection between the two time lines. But as each one was read, I started to understand. At one point I actually had tears in my eyes it was so touching.

The Magic of Sea Glass

This is a wonderful story. It will make you. Want to cuddle up with your favorite cuppa of tea and be there awhile!! I could believe the way she weaves the story alone and you right with it.

what a heartwarming return from sorrow

The sea glass is a beautiful story. It was the thread that brought the sadness, love, adventure and hope together. Absolutely beautiful

Terrible narrator

I could not finish this book. The narrator was terrible. The story itself seemed ok but without having finished the story I couldn’t tell for sure.

Not worthy of paying for this!

A very tired story line of, “My fiancé died and I’m only destined to be miserable!” Heard over and over and over until wow, she’s suddenly renovating an old hotel, revamping the owners business, planning a wedding in one week, hosting a camera crew filming her doing all this, falling in love and, oh yes, discovering in the last pages that she just happens to show up in the same town as where the rest of her hitherto unknown family came from!!!!!?

Terrible narration. Some narrators read a story, others tell it. This one had terrible male voices, poorly emoted, overly emoted, too dramatic, too intrusive, too many sharp T and K endings to sentences.
If all the other positive reviews make you still want to listen at least get it from the library for free. This one isn’t worth having in your library. And although I appreciate the end message, that your lost love one is still with you in spirit, they are not orchestrating your life like this one implies.
