About this listen
The Tibetan Buddhist tradition includes exotic tales about fearless female "sky dancers" or "wisdom dakinis" who dance in limitless space and act as messengers, guides, and protectors. These five dakinis manifest the feminine wisdom energy, bringing strength, power, and transformation to our lives. In The Mandala of the Enlightened Feminine, Tsultrim Allione (one of the first women to be ordained a Buddhist nun over 30 years ago) guides listeners through 12 rich sessions of meditations and visualizations to learn how to embody these archetypes of enlightenment and experience their transformative powers.

Story
Tsultrim Allione brings an 11th-century Tibetan woman's practice to the West for the first time with Feeding Your Demons, an accessible and effective approach for dealing with negative emotions, fears, illness, and self-defeating patterns. Allione - one of only a few female Buddhist leaders in this country and comparable in American religious life to Pema Chodron - bridges this ancient Eastern practice with today's Western psyche. She explains that if we fight our demons, they only grow stronger. But if we feed them, nurture them, we can free ourselves from the battle.

Story
As much as we might try to resist, endings happen in every moment—the end of a breath, the end of a day, the end of a relationship, and ultimately the end of life. And accompanying each ending is a beginning, though it may be unclear what the beginning holds. In How We Live Is How We Die, Pema Chödrön shares her wisdom for working with this flow of life—learning to live with ease, joy, and compassion through uncertainty, embracing new beginnings, and ultimately preparing for death with curiosity and openness rather than fear.

The Words of My Perfect Teacher is the classic commentary on the preliminary practices of the Longchen Nyingtig—one of the best-known cycles of teachings and a spiritual treasure of the Nyingmapa school—the oldest Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Patrul Rinpoche makes the technicalities of his subject accessible through a wealth of stories, quotations, and references to everyday life. His style of mixing broad colloquialisms, stringent irony, and poetry has all the life and atmosphere of an oral teaching.

Story
It is said that the practice of dream yoga deepens our awareness during all our experience: the dreams of the night; the dream-like experience of the day; and the bardo experiences after death. Indeed, the practice of dream yoga is a powerful tool of awakening, used for hundreds of years by the great masters of the Tibetan traditions. Unlike in the Western psychological approach to dreams, the ultimate goal of Tibetan dream yoga is the recognition of the nature of mind or enlightenment itself.

What would be the practical implications of caring more about others than about yourself? This is the radical theme of this extraordinary set of instructions, a training manual composed in the fourteenth century by the Buddhist hermit Ngulchu Thogme, here explained in detail by one of the great Tibetan Buddhist masters of the twentieth century, Dilgo Khyentse. In the Mahayana tradition, those who have the courage to undertake the profound change of attitude required to develop true compassion are called bodhisattvas.

Story
Treasured by Buddhists of all traditions, The Way of the Bodhisattva (Bodhicharyavatara) is a guide to cultivating the mind of enlightenment and to generating the qualities of love, compassion, generosity, and patience. This text has been studied, practiced, and expounded upon in an unbroken tradition for centuries, first in India, and later in Tibet. Presented in the form of a personal meditation in verse, it outlines the path of the Bodhisattvas - those who renounce the peace of individual enlightenment and vow to work for the liberation of all beings.

The so-called Tibetan Book of the Dead has been renowned for centuries as a cornerstone of Buddhist wisdom and religious thought. More recently, it has become highly influential in the Western world for its psychological insights into the processes of death and dying - and what they can teach us about the ways we live our lives. It has also been found to be helpful in the grieving process by people who have recently lost their loved ones. This authoritative translation preserves the form and spirit of the original and was prepared especially for Western audiences.

Lama Yeshe tells us that mahamudra is “the universal reality of emptiness, of nonduality” and its unique characteristic is its emphasis on meditation: “With mahamudra meditation there is no doctrine, no theology, no philosophy, no God, no Buddha. Mahamudra is only experience.” As always, Lama Yeshe’s words are direct, funny, and incredibly encouraging. He gets us to go beyond ego’s addiction to a limited sense of self and to taste the lightness and expansiveness of our own true nature.

Since the West's discovery of Tantra 100 years ago, there has been considerable fascination, speculation, and more than a little misinformation about this spiritual movement. Now, for the first time in the English language, Tantra Illuminated presents an accessible introduction to this sacred tradition that began 1,500 years ago in the far north of India.

Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Just before Christmas in 1843, a debt-ridden and dispirited Charles Dickens wrote a small book he hoped would keep his creditors at bay. His publisher turned it down, so Dickens used what little money he had to put out A Christmas Carol himself. He worried it might be the end of his career as a novelist. The book immediately caused a sensation. And it breathed new life into a holiday that had fallen into disfavor, undermined by lingering Puritanism and the cold modernity of the Industrial Revolution.

Uncover the facts about the Knights Templar. Reveal the truth behind the tales of legendary creatures like the Questing Beast and the unicorn. Trace the events of the Black Death and the ways it altered the world in its wake, and much more. With Professor Armstrong, you will dig deep into the ways that later generations reshaped the narrative of the medieval years and perpetuated the myths.

Story
The Words of My Perfect Teacher is the classic commentary on the preliminary practices of the Longchen Nyingtig—one of the best-known cycles of teachings and a spiritual treasure of the Nyingmapa school—the oldest Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Patrul Rinpoche makes the technicalities of his subject accessible through a wealth of stories, quotations, and references to everyday life. His style of mixing broad colloquialisms, stringent irony, and poetry has all the life and atmosphere of an oral teaching.

Story
The so-called Tibetan Book of the Dead has been renowned for centuries as a cornerstone of Buddhist wisdom and religious thought. More recently, it has become highly influential in the Western world for its psychological insights into the processes of death and dying - and what they can teach us about the ways we live our lives. It has also been found to be helpful in the grieving process by people who have recently lost their loved ones. This authoritative translation preserves the form and spirit of the original and was prepared especially for Western audiences.

Practice-focused work on divine feminine in humans
"The Mandala of the Enlightened Feminine" audiobook (6 hrs, 25 min) covers many of the practices provided in author (and narrator) Lama Tsultrim Allione's book, "Wisdom Rising." The concise opening of the audiobook leads to practices utilized in similar fashion in the author's "Wisdom Rising" and "The Empowered Feminine."

timely
this couldn't have come at a better time for me. I found the practice to be almost instantly beneficial. Its so positive to have an emphasis on spiritual practice that is not guided by a male perspective, but is still respectful of those qualities. I would urge all women to take some time to work through this worthwhile practice.

Powerful, Brilliant and Assessable.
I believe that this book is an absolute must-- a treasure box-- for any spiritually inclined woman, much less any practicing Buddhist of any gender--- or anyone wanting to know what it is to practice (Tibetan) Buddhism. or even anyone who wants to hear an absolutely engrossing story!
what empowerment this teaching is! what wisdom so generously passed to us as if it were a simple fairy tale-- that tale that is the one you may have sought since childhood...finally the fairy tale... that is true.
In full disclosure, I became friends with Lama Tsultrim in the 70's long before she was widely recognized .. in the West, anyway. (we've only been in touch a few times over the years, but I'll see her soon in Colorado at her Dharma center... I hope!) I realize now that the Tibetans were "on to her," long before we were. But I can tell you what the epiphany of her greatness still is in my memory's eye: Tsultrim was the ONLY woman, that the great 20th century Beat poet, Allen Ginsberg, ever bowed to... every time they passed, he bowed... again and again. Tsultrim was simply polite & frienly in return and maybe a little amused... I don't know that because never spoke with her about it... but I did know immediately, after having worked for Allen for almost a decade, that when he bowed to this woman, this woman was someone very very special. He was right about that.
Get this book, it is in her voice, a treat upon a treat.. what a gift and how essential esp. to women everywhere.
Powerful, Brilliant and Assessable.

Not for me.
This teacher clearly has issues she is working through with her snooze-fest droning on and on and on.
A fascinating area of Buddhism rendered completely passionless and dead, less alive than the skulls adorning the Dakini’s neck.
The touted guided meditations and promise of an Enlightened Feminine perspective got me here. Upon hearing the droning drivel, I find myself running from the room. I will take refuge in the jewels, and realize I’m not ready to learn from this teacher.
