Her sisters have found wedded bliss with their wealthy, wonderful dream men, but not Julietta Conte. She's stayed on terra firma as top executive of the family's corporation, La Dolce Famiglia bakery. Work is her passion, and her trendy Milan apartment her sanctuary...until Sawyer Wells, a masculine masterpiece in a suit, lures her out of hiding with an irresistible offer: an exclusive partnership with his international chain of boutique hotels.
Julietta's been burned before - and trusting her brother-in-law's friend, whose powerful gaze alone has her rethinking the best use of a conference room, is the riskiest proposition. But with a once-in-a-career chance to take the bakery global, will she mix stone-cold business with red-hot seduction?

But the author is a skilled writer. She moves the plot along briskly, she reminds you why you liked the returning characters that were introduced in previous books and even though the books are light on the realistic interpretation of the locale, she writes well enough that is forgiven.
Like the earlier books in the series, this is a quick fun read. The author's skill continues to be apparent and I still believe that with the right material she could be a seriously good author.
Narration is great. I don't fault the narrator that there was little to point the reader to the fact that the story took place in Italy and most of the characters were Italian. The author doesn't seem to acknowledge this in the writing.
Not as enjoyable as earlier books in series ...

I loved this series. This book impressed me a lot. I prefer the first one and this one the best. The author made the characters very realistic like they are actual real people you could meet at any time. The story was great to follow along. The only negative is that I wish there was more. I would to liked to know what became of all the characters throughout the series relationships. This was an awesome love story!Wonderful

This is a typical book. It's a good read but much like a cookie cutter... nothing special and predictable. I like that the character belonged to a big family that everyone has each other's back. I like that characters from previous book make appearance in this book. Is it worth a credit, maybe if you're desperate for something to listen to while on a long trip.Good listen but nothing special

What did you love best about The Marriage Merger?
This is a great fantasy, escape. Mama Conte is at it again-ready to know and do what is best for her daughter.I liked that this delved into a darker past for Sawyer and Wolfe. It may be too much if you are used to Jennifer Probst's more light hearted (fun/silly) work in the previous Marriage Series books.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Use the 'O' word a lot less! It seemed to be the focal point when there was SO much more to explore. Also, some minor timeline points...she mentions Sawyer's childhood and he (as a child) compares situation to Harry Potter. VERY minor points...
What three words best describe Madeleine Maby’s performance?
Unique, good & varied (although near the end Maggie started sounding like the men)! Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but 2 sessions and getting NOTHING else done was how I did it.Any additional comments?
NOTE: More graphic and descriptive than her previous books. Some sex and depictions of child abuse.Latest in Series: Marriage to a Billionaire Book 4
