Publisher's summary

Two brothers who are desperately chasing success get more than they bargained for in this suspenseful cat-and-mouse thriller of wealth, crime, and social climbing.

Two brothers. Three secret service agents. And millions for the taking.

Charlie and Oliver Caruso are brothers who work at Greene and Greene, a private bank so exclusive there's a $2 million minimum to be a client. But when the door of success slams in their faces, the brothers are presented with an offer they can't refuse: $3 million in an abandoned account that can't be traced. It's the perfect victimless crime. Charlie and Oliver opt to take the money, but get much more than they bargained for.

Now, with a lot of extra zeroes in their pockets and a friend found dead, the Secret Service and a female private investigator are closing in. Whose money did they take? How will they stay alive? And why is the Secret Service trying to kill them? Both Charlie and Oliver quickly realize it's not easy being The Millionaires.

Complicated, improbable plot.

What did you like best about The Millionaires? What did you like least?

The pace of the plot sustained interest, while plot was imaginative but unlikely to ever happen.

Would you recommend The Millionaires to your friends? Why or why not?

NO

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is good enough to keep one listening, while I would not have finished the book if reading.

Could you see The Millionaires being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No

I recommend.

It's one of Brad Meltzer's better books. Scott Brick, as always, is a pleasure to listen to.

Great narration; bad story

I was kept interested until 1/2 through. And then the author starts to drag out the storyline w unnecessary and excessive dialog among the characters. I fell asleep quite a few times!

Unexpectedly Entertaining

Sometimes a book you initially have mild expectations for ends up being a gem; and that was certainly the case with "The Millionaires". I found the plot far more complex (in a good way) than anticipated, and was constantly entertained with the twists and turns the story took.

I know that Scott Brick inspires a "love him or hate him" response in people; I've always enjoyed his reading style for thrillers. I thought this book was a great fit for his voice.

This book isn't deep, or important, or a statement on our times. It's simply a fun, easy thriller with enjoyable characters, a smart plot, and a decidedly satisfying ending. If that's what you're in the mood for, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Another hit!

Suffice it to say that Scott Brick can put life into the phone book but this was a super combo! Great story with more twists than a slinky. Highly recommend the read.
