About this listen

Tired of second-guessing yourself while mixing?

Mixing doesn't have to be hard. You just need the right process to follow so that you can be confident in your decisions. This book contains the step-by-step formula for creating professional rock mixes (even from your home studio).

Most home studio engineers don't have a process to follow as they mix. As a result, they find themselves feeling unsure of where to begin, how to process individual tracks, make them all work together, and know exactly when their work is finished. Working like this can be frustrating since it often is time consuming and results in weak, lifeless mixes. That's where this book comes in handy.

This step-by-step guide will help you:

  • Create balanced, polished mixes
  • Master tools like EQ, compression, effects, and more
  • Develop a workflow to make the art of mixing easy
  • Discover the key frequency ranges you need to always pay attention to
  • Mix faster and feel more confident with your decisions

If you’re looking to create mixes that sound professional, polished, and huge, this book has the answers you need.

This Book got my Mind Right

The Author did a wonderful job not only introducing me to the Art of Mixing music but he explained things in a way that was not too overbearing technically in other words he did not convincing you a whole bunch of technical terminology that would have made things tough to understand but he broke things down in a simple fashion and really opened me up to what I need to do and how important it is to have a smooth workflow established beforehand overall I will be reading this again using it as a reference I am not an engineer but a songwriter producer but I do want to understand what's going on with my engineer who will be doing mixing for me and it's all that it did a great job it's getting easy assimilated to the Artt of Mixing 🙌🙌 overall great jobs great job

Clear, concise and extremely helpful mixing information.

The content was presented clearly and in an order that made complete sense. This book is maybe the single best source for mixing guidance. Easy to listen to or read, and the author narrates the audio version very well. Thank you for this resource!!!

The MIXXING mindset

This book is a must for the audio enthusiast with home recording rig ? Especially once you hear it , let tinplate while meditating and or napping , so the narrative becomes second nature . I’m on my fourth pass through and I’m so glad . Mr.Mike Indovina , you are so brilliant in your approach of “Eating to to taste not eating to get full” approach ! Some books are daunting ? So much material you’ll never retain a fraction of the script ? You curriculum is just what the average student needs to become great!
Hats off to you sir and your to the point magic

Great overview of mixing with some fiber guidance included. I hate that I have to give 15 words :-P

Worth more than one listen

Friendly teacher with economic approach to a complicated subject. Mixing is an art, but it requires a system.

Short & Sweet

This is not a long book, but it is packed full of knowledge! Mike basically summarized the hours of YouTube videos I’ve been watching and also added something I was searching for, the essence of mixing! Plus there are specific instructions on how to get a good mix. I applied it to a current project and it sounds amazing! Buy the book!

Efficient, well laid out, with tons of great information

Mike takes the complex task of mixing and breaks it down into logical and manageable task steps/workflow. Then as he goes into each tool and instrument, breaks each down with a good balance of key task steps and recommended starting points... then starts hitting more advanced material... then sprinkles on some his personal favorite processing tools that work well for the task at hand. Extremely well done.

You can tell immediately that the narrator is also the author and has probably taught each of these subtopics...a lot. Dense with info and several layers re: level of detail... I listened 2x back to back on a trip and will probably sit down with notepad on 3rd listen or listen to specific section as I’m getting ready to mix that specific instrument.
