About this listen
An absolutely addictive fae romance
Married to the savage fae king…
When Aisling hears that her father has promised her in marriage to the king of the fae, a cold terror washes over her. This marriage means peace for her people, but certain death for Aisling.
Everyone knows that the fae are monsters. That they murder and steal for sport. But when Aisling meets her new husband, he is not at all the beast she expected.
Lir is alluring, wild, and dangerously perfect. She is determined to hate him, but his sharp tongue and fierce loyalty to his people spark an attraction she cannot control.
He draws Aisling into a realm of deadly enchantments and mythical beasts. But she finds that the fae have monsters of their own—creatures of ancient evil that grow stronger by the day.
When Aisling finds herself fighting at Lir’s side, something new stirs inside her: something more than desire; something magical and untamed, ready to break free. She must learn to control her passion and her power, or watch as the mortal and fae worlds are torn apart.
An absolutely irresistible, slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance, The Mortal Queen will take you on an action-packed adventure in a world of fae and magic. With unforgettable characters, searing chemistry, action and shocking twists, it’s perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas, Holly Black and Callie Hart.
The Mortal Queen was previously published as Aisling: Breath of the New Creature by A.E. Jürgens.

Story
I didn't think pulling off for a quick bite to eat in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere would change everything. I was wrong. Now, I'm running through the forest wearing nothing but a red cloak, being hunted by wolves. I'm desperate, terrified, and not ready to die. When they attack, I know this is it. Except…it isn't. Because the den of wolves that bite me somehow turns into men. Men who swear I'm just like them—a shifter. And as much as I don't want to believe them, I'm not sure they're wrong.

Story
There are whispers about what lurks in Witch Knell—the forest where sinners go to die. The villagers call it The Eating Woods because what's taken is never given back. Only those who've lost their senses would dare to go near it. Or the banished. Maevyth Bronwick knows better than to breach the misty labyrinth of trees, but a tragic turn of events compels her beyond the archway of bones to a boundary no mortal has crossed before. One that cloaks a dark and fantastical world that's as dangerous as it is alluring. It's there that he dwells, the cursed lord of Eidolon.

Spending a month on "Love Island" for wolf shifters is not my idea of a good time. I’m about to start my second year of law school, and instead of banking hours at a coveted internship, I’m stuck sipping pina coladas on a white sand beach in the middle of the Caribbean. Okay, yeah. I hear how that sounds. But hear me out. The whole point of this island? It’s a glorified dating show. One of my FAVORITE stories about the Fae, EVER!!!
This is one of THE best book series I have found on BookTok. If you enjoy fantasy and stories about the FAE this one is absolutely fantastic!!! 5 stars!

One of my top 3 favorite books.
I had to buy the audio book because this is one of my top 3 favorite books. The other 2 being ACOTAR and Fourth Wing. Audiobook was just as good as the book.
