A widower haunted by grief. A witch on the run. A second chance at love through magical wine.
Hugo Dodds is numb, grief-stricken, and haunted by the memories of a life taken from him all too soon. He tries to move forward, but cannot let go of Elizabeth—his beloved wife—after her passing.
A late-night backyard encounter introduces Hugo to his eccentric new neighbor, Alice Primrose. She’s secretly a witch with the ability to make magical wine. Alice hides in Hugo’s small town after the betrayal of a former lover causes her to flee from the life she knows and loves.
Alice’s zest, hope, and optimism draws Hugo closer and their relationship grows through a shared love of wine. But as their feelings develop, they struggle with the ultimate question: Are they ready to let go of the past and move forward together?
The Neighborhood Witch, a “second chance at love” gothic paranormal romance.

The characters - They were all so well developed and likable.
The setting - I love the small town vibe without too much of the typical small town tropes.
The Story - It was unique! I love that Hugo was immediately accepting of Alice. I love the role that winemaking played.

Flashbacks - early on in the book it wasn’t as easy to recognize flashbacks but once I got into it I could easily tell the moment someone slipped back in time.
This is a great year round magikal romance!

The characters of Alice and Hugo are endearing and relatable, and the topics covered in this story are so relatable as they both try and navigate through life and the trauma that sometimes comes with it.
Laura Horowitz did a fantastic job at differentiating between characters and bringing them to life!
Fun, Witchy read!
