About this listen

Russian meddling, American fragmentation, and global politics collide in this action-packed, international thriller from New York Times best-selling author Eric Van Lustbader.

In The Nemesis Manifesto, Eric Van Lustbader, 'the master of the smart thriller', delivers an epic and harrowing adventure of the predatory forces that are threatening the very fabric of democracy and kicks off a compelling new series with a singular new hero for our time.

Evan Ryder is a lone wolf, a field agent for a black-ops arm of the DOD who has survived unspeakable tragedy and dedicated her life to protecting her country.

When her fellow agents begin to be systematically eliminated, Evan must unravel the thread that ties them all together...and before her name comes up on the kill list.

The list belongs to a mysterious cabal known only as Nemesis, a hostile entity hell-bent on tearing the United States apart. As Evan tracks them from Washington, DC to the Caucasus Mountains, from Austria to a fortress in Germany where her own demons reside, she unearths a network of conspirators far more complex than anyone could have imagined. Can Evan uproot them before Nemesis forces bring democracy to its knees?

Embarrassingly poor.

Never before have I considered returning a book to Audible. This book is a JOKE. The story line is nearly impossible to follow. It contains all the "in" social buzz's and preaches how much "smarter" certain sections oof society are than others. Complete rubish and an absolute embarassment for the author. Stay away.

Hated it

Plot was so convoluted and had so many characters, I couldn't follow it. Might be better in hardback. Narrator's Russian and German accents were so bad I missed most of those parts of the book because I couldn't understand her. All I got out of the book was that there was a bad guy organization called Nemesis but I wasn't sure if they were conquered in the end or not. Book was too long, slow moving and hard to follow mostly due to too many characters and a hard to understand narrator. If it wasn't so long I'd try the hardback version instead of audio but I'd rather spend my time on another book.
