About this listen

New York Times best seller

A desperate manhunt ensues for a killer who preys upon his victims’ minds — just before he claims their lives — in this blockbuster novel from number one best-selling author Lisa Gardner.

What do you do when a killer targets the people you love the most? When he knows how to make them vulnerable? When he knows the same about you?

These are the questions that haunt FBI Special Agent Pierce Quincy. The police say his daughter’s death was an accident. Quincy will risk everything to learn the truth — and there’s only one person willing to help. Ex-cop Rainie Connor had once been paired professionally — and personally — with the brilliant FBI profiler. He helped her through the darkest days of her life.

Now it’s time for Rainie to return the favor. But this killer is like none these two hard-boiled pros have ever encountered. This twisted psychopath has an insatiable hunger for revenge...and for fear. As the clock ticks down to one unspeakably intimate act of vengeance, the only way Rainie can unmask this killer is to step directly in his murderous path. She will become a murder waiting to happen. She will be...the next accident.

Lisa never fails her readers!!!

What a ride!!! I was magnetized by every paragraph. I’m looking for the next book that Quincy and Rainy marry.

Great Book

Love the book, but wished the strong language was not there. The story line was very good.

A Great Example of Mystery

I really enjoyed this story & the narrator did an excellent job. I was almost always able to tell the difference of who was talking. She made sure that the characters did not sound exactly alike. The story was awesome & had a lot of mystery & twists. I like to guess who the unsub is in these type of books & there is no way I was able to guess exactly who this one was. I suspected but went against it when the age was mentioned. Some parts were frustrating because they were not realistic. Exp: if a car was purchased under Quincy's name why was an APB never put out on the car when the perp drove around all willy-nilly? Also why would the FBI not go to the dealership & ask for servaillance footage? I questioned little things like that but overall had an excellent read.

Interesting and not unbelievable

The narrator's voice at the beginning g was annoying , but then once I got past that, I enjoyed the story. Good to have strong female characters.

Good plot and characters

This book was interesting and suspenseful, but I felt at times that it was padded with dialogue, etc to fill up space. It could have been shorter.

As good as all the others

I almost didn't listen to this one due to the negative comments another narration. I didn't take issue with the narration and enjoyed the book.

2 stories

Read the older version first and then listen to the 2 Nd. They are based on the same story. In the 2 Nd someone tries to come back and steal each character back before they are all gone. Really not sure what I think about it right now but will continue to ponder it. Have fun!

Really good,

I just finished the Dd/flora dean series, That series was just excellent. These characters are not as complex yet, but I do enjoy the big family dynamic carried over into all these titles and suppose it will become just what the DD series became.

And lets get a few whoop, whoops for Lisa Gardner and her ability to turn out consistent page turners and ones that do not disappoint.

Great story, great performance

“The Next Accident” was a great story that left me guessing till the end and I particularly enjoyed the performance. Something about Anna Fields voices that I could listen to all day. Well done all the way around.
