Enjoyable!

I found this to be an interesting book. The narrator did a good job. The story was as good as any of this genre.

Tricky story

Writing is interesting and characters are just fine. A more convincing reading would have put it over better.

A very good story

At first it was somewhat difficult to listen to the narrator, but as I progressed in the story I started to enjoy the narration more and more. The story was very interesting, I love detective style stories and this one didn't disappoint, held my interest the whole time. would recommend to anyone.

I received the audiobook free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review.

Solid Audio Book

If you could sum up The Ninth District in three words, what would they be?

Cat and Mouse

What did you like best about this story?

The character of the governor

Which character – as performed by Mark Huff – was your favorite?

The Governor

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

?

Any additional comments?

The performance from the voice actors was very good.
It was a solid story with your typical cat & mouse set ups.
My only draw back was on the actual file itself.
Audio noise seemed to drop in and out with the performance.
But it wasn't to distracting.

The Ninth District

I really enjoyed The Ninth District. FBI agents Jack Miller and his rookie partner Ross "Junior" Fruen (?sp) are investigating a series of bank robberies. The clues lead them to the fact that someone is going to rob the Ninth District Federal Reserve. The story is fast paced and moves along without a hitch. I enjoyed finding out about areas of Minneapolis that I didn't know about. The narrator gave a nice performance and I would recommend this story to friends and family.

I am spoiled!

What disappointed you about The Ninth District?

I didn't know what to expect, but I did think there would be at least decent plot, writing and performance.

The writing was simplistic, rough.

The performance was pitiful! I couldn't tell the voices apart, even the ones that should be really different, like men from women?

And if there was a plot, a point, it sure wasn't obvious, and sorry to say, I didn't get far into this.

What could Douglas Dorow have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

some decent writing, more mature,

What didn’t you like about Mark Huff’s performance?

no difference in narrative and voices - monotone

What character would you cut from The Ninth District?

didn't get far enough to know - flat characters - no substance,

Any additional comments?

I don't like not liking something, but this one needs some work.

Poor Narration

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

It might be a good read for anyone.

What was most disappointing about Douglas Dorow’s story?

I have no idea; I couldn't listen to the narrator more than a few minutes.

How could the performance have been better?

In every way. The narrator sounded like someone doing a car commercial. Weird inflection, little distinction between characters' voices. This was worse than some of the listens where the author has read the book himself.

What character would you cut from The Ninth District?

No idea. I couldn't get into the story because of the narrator.

Any additional comments?

Skip the listen and read the book if you are interested in this story.
