When Gaston splits the tribe and convinces Seren to join him, Jonah must lead the remaining Elk despite the constant threats on the road to Eliz. But all is not what it seems in the land of the winter ruins. Invaders from the north have secretly traveled south as well, forcing Jonah to risk everything to save his clan and his family.

I could not stop listening! the characters are well written and the drama draws you in and keeps you hanging on. A bit tedious in spots but a necessary evil all books struggle with. All in all a very good listen. im very happy with the decision to purchase.

As Gaston and his group head off toward the White Tower, main group of Elk pack continues and Sorcha sets out on her own to survive the winter.
This second installment in the Dustfall saga is a fast paced adventure through a dark post-apocalyptic world that challenges leaders and brings out both the best and the worst in the survivors.
I really like the characters and it's been a pleasure to watch Jonah grow into the leader he was meant to be.
An interesting read.

Seperate Adventures

No zombies! Realistic fiction following different clans as they wander to survive away from the winter regions, against other clans, into the creeping Blythe as it and disaster as the people hold on to their final generations to survive

Finding the way back.

Writing and imagery is good, like the first book, but this one feels more transitional with less character development than the first. Still has some of the problems of the first, with short unnecessary chapters from tertiary character perspectives. Drags in the first 30 or so chapters but picks up around the last 15.

The story is still good and I like the narrator a lot, he carries the experience for me

Still enjoying the story
