A “twisted page-turner that should appeal to fans of You.” (EntertainmentWeekly.com)

An International Best Seller

Named a Top 10 Debut Author to Watch by Popsugar | A Parade.com Debut Novel Everyone Will Be Reading

His first mistake? Thinking she'd let him go.

Juliette finally has it all. Great friends. An exciting new job that sends her to exotic locations all over the world. Best of all, she has a good, decent man who loves her, who wants to spend the rest of his life with her....

He just won’t admit it.

But Juliette’s not worried. After all, fate brought them together in the first place. If she and Nate are meant to be, they can weather any storm - even this break-up they’re going through now. Nate thought things had been moving too fast, getting too intense. All he needed was some space, though. Now that six months have passed since that awful night, it’s time for Juliette to put her plan into action.

It takes some convincing: cleaning his apartment while he’s out, leaving behind his favorite foods...little things to make him realize how badly he misses her. Once he sees Juliette has this perfect new life - and broken free from her dark past - he won’t ignore her anymore. Especially now that she’s working for his airline.

She’s not going to let him go so easily. Because their love is like a dream that never dies.

Even when it turns out to be a nightmare.

“Funny, creepy, surprising, scary, and exhilarating.” (Publishers Weekly)

Loved it!!!

No one can fight fate! Usually I get annoyed when a concrete ending isn’t provided, however, in this case not providing one really adds to the drama! You can imagine all the ways she will continue to traumatize and torture Nate! Great story.

I think it works as an audiobook better than book

I'm convinced this was made to be an audiobook. The narrator does a fantastic job reading from Lily's POV and doing everything from a great customer service voice when Lily's at her airline job, to a great insane voice, to a great American accent at times!

And I enjoyed it; being in Lily's head for 12 hours. I came to sympathize with her, and I came to wish she would win. What I love about this book is the feeling that the characters are bound entirely by at times nonsensical motivations and personal concictions- I think this book is incredibly immersive, and manages to pull off some insane plotlines without it ever feeling forced; without having to reach for absurd plot twists to retain tension. On the topic, many of the most hair-raising moments of this novel are only mundane things that gain tension from the way they matter to the characters.

Complaints... I think the ending is kind of mid, I don't think the character who gets it should've got it, I wasn't invested enough in them for it to hit me. Can be repetitive at times- I think the audio format elevates it a lot. if I had to describe this book it's like listening to your crazy relative ramble about some rude interaction from three weeks ago at a gathering- in that was oddly captivating for some, and incredibly ear jarring for others.

If you don't like yandere stories, I wouldn't recommend. If you find it difficult to suspend disbelief especially when the character is a bad person- No faulting you, it's some people and if it's you there other things to read.

A Long Haul

I liked the premise of this book, but the story went on forever with the (damaged) protagonist trying to catch this man who didn’t want to be with her. She goes from Plan A to Plan Z, in utter denial and the ending never resolves. Also, it was a very strange choice of narrator. Truly a case of a narrator not matching the book. I think the book was going for a modern, Gone Girl, vibe with a narrator that might have been better suited for a 1940s period piece. Distracting.

not for me

This novel was too tedious and too long for the abrupt ending we received. 2.5 stars for the unreliable narrator's tenacity.

Some ppl may want to check their reading comprehension...

Trust me this book is so well written I’ve recommended it to everyone I know who reads or listens to books.
Our protagonist is very very broken and for good reason, which I won’t say. however, there is a lot of very dark humor too. I found my self chuckling at some of her musings. But I’m mainly writing this review to cancel out the reviews from people who just didn’t really get this book . They did not get the satirical nature of it, or the brokenness of this woman. Maybe it’s our attention span issues in this minute video culture. There are still those of us who enjoy savoring a book.
Back to the story...She was not only guilt ridden from a horrible tragedy she was bullied in school. We know this early on that one girl in particular made her life hell. I identified strongly with that. I won’t say what other event happened , but it was truly tragic. I think she had gone through enough to make anyone have problems.
Also let’s get this straight from the get go....SHE IS NOT A PSYCHOPATH. Much attention has been given lately to psychopathy but, this isn’t a case of one. If I had to diagnose this person I would say separation anxiety , unresolved parent issues, extreme guilt....but psychopaths do not feel guilt, nor love. This woman had more emotion than she could handle.
Im truly that authors get ripped because others go too fast and not and miss a lot of nuance in the narrative and the dialogue.
It is NOT necessary to like the protagonist to enjoy a book, only for them to be interesting. However, I liked this woman and found her to be fascinating. Also I cannot say enough about the narration. As always a British accent helps, but this narrator really went above Nd beyond to flesh out the characters.
I’m picky...really really picky. I’ve been disappointed by many books lately especially this genre. But this was beyond my expectations which is why it has rave reviews from the critics.
To come up with some of the situations she does took tons of imagination and then to execute them well....I say it takes talent.
Like I said, parts of the book were funny, parts were tragic, all in all I think it’s a winner and there is not one thing wrong with the ending.

Bad choice of narrator

I quite liked the story, but I wish they had used a different reader. The main character is somebody in her mid-late twenties, but the narrator sounds like a prim lady in her 40s.

She's a GREAT reader - she has a very nice voice, great diction, great pacing, no annoying mouth sounds at all - but she makes the main character sound like an old lady and I think she was a bad choice for this title in particular.
