About this listen

A princess in disguise is forced to live with a rogue in order to protect her from danger in this fun, sexy Regency romance.

Bow Street agent Sebastien Wolff, Earl of Mowbray, doesn’t believe in love - until a passionate kiss with a beautiful stranger in a brothel forces him to reconsider. When the mysterious woman is linked to an intrigue involving a missing Russian princess, however, Seb realizes her air of innocence was too good to be true.

Princess Anastasia Denisova has been hiding in London as plain "Anna Brown". With a dangerous traitor hot on her trail, her best option is to accept Wolff’s offer of protection - and accommodation - at his gambling hall. But living in such close quarters, and aiding Wolff in his Bow Street cases, fans the flames of their mutual attraction. If Anya’s true identity is revealed, does their romance stand a chance? Could a princess ever marry a rogue?

Nothing special

Nothing really stood out in this story...Just the same old story...Nothing exciting, nothing different, nothing new

Fantastic, loved everything about this story.

Beverley Crick is amazing with accents and narration. She made the story feel like a movie in my brain. The story is amazing with a dashing confident rogue of a hero, who is a marksmen and as swashbuckling as he can be! Our heroine matches him in wit, intelligence and cunning and their slow romance is intertwined with international intrigue until their burn explodes in fire. It is a book I could not put down until the end. It was a satisfying story and a relief filled ending filled with passion and humor.

Not Bad

Not Bad. Even though sometimes the hero was way too cocky for my taste. Overall, the story was good.

The Princess and the Rogue

I'm not a big fan of "Royal s" stories but I do enjoy Kate Batman's books and this series has been fun. I also listened to the audiobook in parts and Beverley Crick always does an excellent job! ❤

so stupid!

I hated it. I hated the sloppy writing. I hated the machuism of the MMC. I hated that silly plot that a Dowger would have setup that the 2 MCs live together alone. <such BS> I hate how quickly and easily the FMC gave into the rogue's come ons. But what I hated the most was that the FMC once protrayed as strong independent woman lost all common sense in order to give the book a climax. Soooo dumb!

Will need to re-visit

To begin with....I listened to this book immediately after finishing the previous book in the series. Soooooo....I couldn't finish. I stopped about midway. This book was like cookies made from same base dough as the other cookies...just different ingredients. I'll wait a while and re-listen. But, Beverly A Crick did an amazing job of narrating with a Russian accent.

Loved this series until the last 2 hours of this

I loved this series and the friendship of the 3 heros. BK is a great narrator , so that is not the issue. It came at the last 2 hours of this book when the heroine does something so stupid and out of character...I had to stop listening and write this review.
The H/H are smart and strong. They have great chemistry and the dialogue is perfect for the narrator. Lots of accents and action. It's just that the smart strong heroine acts so out of character and stupidily that I wanted to tear my hair out. It's not even very clever, and you can see the stupid coming like a freight train, but as the listener, you can't step out of the way.
Everything else about this book is wonderful and I learned a lot, so the stupid was so jarring it upset me. If you can overlook a perfect heroine doing that 1 annoying thing, then this plot will be okay. If you are a listener that likes things to make sense, then you might want to rethink this purchase. If you are like me and prefer to finish a series you will have to just let it go . This is just a warning for those that hate a TSTL misstep.
