Great Listen! Always enjoy Brenda Joyce

The narration was good, the story line well developed and written. Just a wonderful story, the characters are complicated, wish the Shawn character would have developed more. Long, good listen. It won't disappoint and is well worth a credit.

Can we say Stockholm syndrome?

When I read the comments before listening to the audio I was like I’m sure they are exaggerating…. BUT I see now they were not.

The protagonist is forever the victim. Has she no dignity, no self respect. I feel this novel is for the type of woman who falls in love with a bad guy and thinks she will change him. That her love is big enough to help them overcome their trama. But in reality in real life they NEVER change. But this novel is for them and their dreams because “he” I guess in the end does change.

And I don’t understand WHY he has to give his enemy the deed to that property back just because he no longer wants to pursue revenge? Makes no sense. If he doesn’t want the property just sell it. What this act all of a sudden makes him a changed and reformed man?

There are TO MANY things I don’t like about this book. I don’t think I can name ALL the things because there are too many but I will name a few.

1. She offers herself to him and he goes and sleeps with the maid. And she accepts his reasoning for it. Makes me want to vomit 🤢

2. In the middle of losing her virginity to him in the last moment SHE CHANGES HER MINED! He takes it anyways! And she is like oh it felt good I guess it’s ok 🤢

3. Brother (Sean) convinces her (Virginia) that he (Devlin ) is a good guy to stick by him because DEEP down inside he does care for her. Honestly all the character Devlin Needs was to hit her. That was the only thing he was missing! oh and to be an alcoholic or a drug addicted.

….. this book was not for me. Too many cringe moments for me. I must say though I did like the narrator Voices this time.

So Awful I Don't Know Where To Begin

The heroine is an absolute disgustingly weak moron. She makes me physically ill. I have nothing good to say. Nothing. So bad. Do not read this tripe. It is repetitive and harrowing.

Painful narration

Would you try another book from Brenda Joyce and/or Christina Thurmond?

I enjoy books by this author.
If only these horribly forced British accents could be monitored.
It's hard to listen to an American 'over-doing' the British characters.
Completely spoiled the book for me......I gave up after an hour, hence the story is rated low.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Rogue Herries by Hugh Walpole

What didn’t you like about Christina Thurmond’s performance?

what else can I say

Don’t bother.

If you wanna read about the last text this is your book. If you don’t need that kind of crap don’t waste your credit.
