About this listen

Ojasvi "Sin" Sinclair.

Fast-forwarding three years after it was finally revealed, what's in a name?

Ashira now knows the man she once thought of as a felon laborer is far more than the task she'd bargained for. Yes, he's a convicted felon who works in home-building. He's also convicted in his spiritual walk, a savvy entrepreneur, laboriously supportive, a tad insane, and has possibly run out of patience for her. He's also the father of her three-year-old child.

Find out how Jas and Ashira navigate through pain, resentment, acceptance, and co-parenting while remaining solid for their child and being true to themselves.

Is there room for them to say more? Or should they simply say less?

The Promise is book three of Prism and completes the series. This book contains angst, violence, profanity, sexually explicit content, and potentially gory material. Intended for mature listeners.

Great Series!

This was such a great series that elicited strong varied opinions about the characters! LB fans went hard on debating this series when we read the books. So now, listening to the series, I'm hearing and feeling things differently, but in a good way! This series definitely animated everything for me and I guess that is what audiobooks should do! Alyx Monroe did a great job as Shi-Shi who was wonderfully annoying and Winston James nailed Jas' complex character.
And finally, Love Belvin is my favorite author...So I will Say Less about her amazing pen game! This series gets a Chef's Kiss!

I loved the series!

For me I love the longer audio books. I just wanted Jazz & SheeShee together!! She was working my nerves a couple of chapters!! LOL! For some strange reason I thought Jazz was going to make a play for Peach. Glad it didn't happen!!

I was hooked

I couldn’t stop listening. Had to make myself put my ear piece away in church!!
Sigh.,. While I think this last book was drawn out at the beginning and had a rushed wrap up at the end, I loved getting to know these 2 characters and the relationships that orbit them and shape them.
Some critiques
*spoilers*I didn’t understand why 2 people seeing a therapist wouldn’t consider couples therapy. I didn’t know why She She’s fear abandonment was also worked through during therapy along with Jazz’s anger and controlling nature. How is it that it took She she’s mother to point out that she’s also running from her family.
I liked Jazz’s focus, patience and love for She She. I didn’t like the violence on her behalf or attempts to control her love life. Otherwise, an incredible partner and co-parent!
I loved the depth of She’s She’s love for Jazz although she was self-centered, whiny, and spoiled like a stereotypical born rich woman . But I loved her intelligence, emotional openness, playfulness , sexuality and the community she had around her. I especially loved their spirited daughter Chee Chee.

She she could have worked through her issues with marriage a long time ago versus Jazz being made to feel that’s it’s no forever. Hell, she couldn’t dance forever!
All that said,

This satisfied my love for hearing stories about very flawed characters finding love in each other. So I
still thoroughly enjoyed the journey!!! It was fire 🔥

((Bravo to the narrators that brought this book to life ❤️))

Ashiraaaa and Ojasviii

Gold. That’s what the Prism series is. Literal gold. The story will have you flip flopping on whose side you are on and who’s in the wrong. Such an amazing story brought to life by these awesome narrators.

Expressions picked up

From the 1st book, the voices were flat. But this last installment was eons better. The swallowing by Winston drove me crazy. (ASMR)

Loved It!!

I have to admit, I almost past because of time it would take to get through all three books but I am so glad I took a chance.

I only wish the story spent time on the other characters in the story but I am hoping the series will continue with the other characters.

I do also wish they would have dealed more with Jazz's relationship with Josie (the double dipping) since it is a large part of the 3rd book.

Awesome performances, awesome story.

Jazz before and after

Really enjoyed the story line and backstory. The story line almost lost me in the middle because of the main female character.
