About this listen

Behind the men who shaped history are the heroes who forever changed it. In The Prophet, the fourth book in the Sons of Encouragement series, beloved author Francine Rivers illuminates the life of Amos. Francine examines the life of Amos and his relationship to Israel during its prosperous years. Amos' message and his relationship with God made him unpopular. But his challenge to those who were enjoying the blessings of prosperity was crucial then and is strikingly timely today as well.

Adam Gerber's tenderness as the Voice of YHWH speaking to and through HIS servant Amos was a joy to listen to.

The story of Amos, from poignant, very meaning filled days and nights as a Shepherd, to Amos' learned heart for IsraEl and Judah is intense yet inspiring. His interaction with Hosea deeply revealing. It could be called a prequel to Francine's story "Redeeming Love".

This book was excellent in every way. A must-read for anyone who misunderstands God’s love for people, or anyone who grieves for those who are lost in their sin—both Jew & Gentile! This book paints a vivid picture of the history of Israel & Judah & consequential judgment—and it is simultaneously relevant to the condition of our present-day corruption within church-leadership & modern-day mixture within worship & worshippers. Oh that God will grant us repentance, and revival!

Truly enjoyed listening to this. Sometimes all the history of kings and times of Israel and Judah confuse me. This story opened my eyes to this brave prophet.

Well read other than the pronunciation of some Biblical names. I feel like I have found a window into Amos’s world. Interesting and I believe Biblically sound. Worth a listen.

Francine Rivers is such a great writer, I love how she is able to bring characters of the Bible to life and show us how similar to use they are. She encourages to read the Bible and read the stories she writes about. I highly recommend her books.

I am very thankful for this portrayal of Amos the prophet as it has given many good and beneficial perspectives of a man's life who is oftentimes overlooked and underrated. The life of Amos was difficult and directed. He obeyed the Lord when it was most desperate and serve the Lord in humility and grace. The author's rendition is both beneficial and blessed.

A biblical story embellished and emboldened
