This irresistibly funny tale of the conflict between New York City’s pushcart peddlers and truck drivers is the best satire of war ever written for children. With captivating warmth and humor, The Pushcart War teaches young listeners invaluable lessons about the strategies, politics, and consequences of war.

This is an interesting story and nothing like any of the other books I have read so far. I read somewhere that this book is funny but I didn’t really find it funny.
Interesting and very different from other books I have read

Lots of tongue-in-cheek humor, sweet character development and delightful, even suspenseful, plot lines make this a great listen. Narration is superb as Mr Hammer brings life and personality to each character. From elementary school onward, this story can be enjoyed at many developmental levels of understanding.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Pushcart War to be better than the print version?
Yes, the narration makes this book a great listen. Mark Hammer, RIP, was terrific in this one.Would you recommend The Pushcart War to your friends? Why or why not?
Not really. I've few friends that would appreciated as I did. What does Mark Hammer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He makes it. Use a different narrator and I'd have returned the book straight away. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
