loved it

t was clever, very entertaining, and a quick read that would provide deep material for a good adult book club or middle school class discussion. I will look for more books by this author.

My whole family loved it!

We loved the whole story. We listened while traveling. The discussion it prompted and the quotes my kids use around the house are great.

Interesting and very different from other books I have read

I am reading through the entire Mensa 4th-6th grade reading booklist and all the Newbery Medal books (and some honors books too). I
This is an interesting story and nothing like any of the other books I have read so far. I read somewhere that this book is funny but I didn’t really find it funny.

Social Studies Teachers!

This could be a most effective and entertaining approach to many international, national, local and interpersonal relations and ethics discussions.
Lots of tongue-in-cheek humor, sweet character development and delightful, even suspenseful, plot lines make this a great listen. Narration is superb as Mr Hammer brings life and personality to each character. From elementary school onward, this story can be enjoyed at many developmental levels of understanding.

i smiled the whole way through

I suggest listening. The Narrator enhances the story. I loved the story, the coincidences, the play on words, the alliterations … I read this on the suggestion of my 11 year old grandson

Great narration on an interesting original book.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Pushcart War to be better than the print version?

Yes, the narration makes this book a great listen. Mark Hammer, RIP, was terrific in this one.

Would you recommend The Pushcart War to your friends? Why or why not?

Not really. I've few friends that would appreciated as I did.

What does Mark Hammer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He makes it. Use a different narrator and I'd have returned the book straight away.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

NO

Very entertaining and humorous

My girls enjoy it so much, they ask to listen to it. And they were sad when we had to pause it for bedtime or anything.
