Publisher's summary

Heroic bookseller Laurent Letellier comes across an abandoned handbag on a Parisian street. There's nothing in the bag to indicate who it belongs to, although there's all sorts of other things in it. Laurent feels a strong impulse to find the owner and tries to puzzle together who she might be from the contents of the bag. Especially a red notebook with her jottings, which really makes him want to meet her. Without even a name to go on, and only a few of her possessions to help him, how is he to find one woman in a city of millions?

Charming book

Great story. My book club friends will love it for the fact that it involves a book seller and it's Paris setting.
My only wish is that there had been chapter designations.

Französisch?

Wen der Sprecher doch nur besser französisch könnte. Es war eine Qual die Namen zu hören. Nur die Geschichte hat mich durchhalten lassen.

why the silly "french" accents?

the story is all set in Paris. why does reader decide to make the characters speak like "comic" french characters in outdated british television

So French!

A jewel of a romantic mystery. So much to learn from one woman’s handbag. I enjoyed the references to Sophie Calle. They fit so well within the story. As usual Alex Wyndham was excellent.

Beautiful Story, Well Told

I just loved this story. The author takes the reader along on a carefully crafted little mystery, with intriguing characters skillfully developed as the tale unfolds. There are a few twists and turns, and overall strong storytelling. I am keeping this brief so listeners won't have anything spoil their enjoyment of this gem.
